I've walked the dog, dinner is cooking, and I'm settled here with a cuppa. So, last night. What was that about? The past couple of years I've had people here for new year. This year it was supposed to be someone else's turn. However, they decided not to, for one reason and another; only didn't tell anyone! So, last night we all sat at home on our lonesomes watching telly! So; what did you get up to? Did you go to a club? (God, I would have if I'd known in time!) Have a special play session? A vanilla night with family and friends? Or catching up with re-runs of 'Eastenders'??? I don't know why I'm posting this, because I just know I'm going to hate the replies! Oh; and a happy new year to all as well.

Just hung out at the house, listened to fireworks, watched bowl games and watched crazy bastids jumping a motorcycle and snowmobile across the waterway in san diego. I don't go out on 'amateur night'.

I worked. Come to think of it, I can't remember that last time I wasn't working on NYE/NY. meh, it's all good though.. that way I'm not on the road with all the idiots who are too intoxicated to WALK, let alone drive..

Let's see.... Generic Dude worked until 7pm which means he didn't get home until 7:30ish. We had planned on grilling steaks and potatoes but we were both too tired to go to bed with that sort of meal sitting in our stomach. During the day of peace and quiet here at home with the animals I was a lazy bum. Puttering around the house, taking the dogs outside, made a grocery list and finally showered and got into town around 2:30pm, did the grocery run and went straight back home. Because we wanted to eat light I thin sliced some beef, various veggies including a nice head of bokchoy, browned the beef and tossed in the veggies with some beef broth and crushed red peppers. Made some rice noodles and spooned the veggie beef stuff over with a healthy swirl of my fav rooster hot sauce. We then proceeded to our respective fav spots on the sofa and love seat with canine companions. G.D. switched the television back and forth between HGTV's house hunters show and a football game. A last trip outdoors for the dogs, a brushing of teeth, bed around 10pm. Not even a glass of wine was drunk. To be honest I cannot remember the last time I had a drink..... I think it was December 17th when I had two glasses of wine at a holiday party. Just haven't been in the mooooood lately.

Okay, let me sweeten the pot. Now I am getting a special recipe batch of home made pancakes made for me, along with thick sliced, hickory smoked bacon. And I am sitting here on my comfy leather sofa, in the sun, with a cute little dog in my lap and a big goofy one snuggled next to me.

Master and I watched movies and cuddled. He had a tournament this morning, so he needed to be up early.

We brought in steak dinners from O Charley's, had some Sophia champagne, homemade chocolate mousse and had a play session. Then I slept like the dead.

Oh; and a happy new year to all as well. In the first place, had I been wanting to go out, I would have made plans with or without the party responsible for providing the entertainment. Two weeks in advanced I would have asked about it. Nothing happening? Okay fine, I will make my own plans. As for what we did? I made open face Salisbury Steak sammiches, then coffee and pecan pie, watched some of the Big Bang Theory Marathon, did a toddler-size, watched some Dr. Seuss and ate popcorn with Butterhead, put a new baby chair together, toasted the New Year while trying to teach Butterhead how to do so, and then went to bed. The other half had ice-cream instead of pie. A nice time was had by all.

I went out to take some photos of the celebrations in London but screwed up on the location. Other than that, nothing much. Watched a few episodes of 'Selwyn Froggitt' on Youtube.

He watched football and then the various New Year's specials. I wanted to go to bed early but wasn't allowed to. We ate too much junk food and didn't feel up to playing. By the time we did, it was late and a kid was coming home from work, and I was overtired and grouchy.

Of course, ash could just be one of those people who gets off on sugar.. [;)] On this end, I personally spent the whole day getting off on all the delicious happy energy which is naturally inherent in New Year's Eve. Did a small amount of grocery shopping, talked to strangers, and smiled too much. Later, sent Himself on to work and then, knowing the demands of month-end AND year-end paperwork would detain him until after Magick Hour, took both Things and joined him there to help. Found a live streaming website so I could watch the Ball drop in Times Square, one of the few things I always require of this occasion no matter what else is going on, then got all misty and snogged Himself silly right at midnight. Then, finished up the work, came quietly back to the homestead, drank a little, smoked a little, had transcendent sex, and went happily to bed with hope in my heart for the future. Perfect. and an auspicious beginning. *Wishing each and every one of you everything you want and need in the coming year.
