FantasyKisses -> Adult Themed Coupon Codes (or lack of) (1/1/2012 10:44:30 AM)

Hey guys, I normally lurk, but like most everyone else, I'm always looking for a way to save a dollar on toys and gear because let's face it, this stuff is expensive.

But I wanted to let everyone know that RetailMeNot.com no longer supports us kinky folks. In fact, if you try to find a coupon code for--Adult Toy Chest for instance, you get an image with a stern teacher holding a ruler telling you they've decided to "clean up their act".

I'm highly offended by this, and was wondering if anyone has the time and the motivation, to write Retail Me Not a letter of complaint (long, short, anything) to defend us loveable oddballs.

Here is mine as an example:

To Whom It May Concern,
Your site has "decided to clean up [your] act" by removing adult-themed coupon codes???

So what are you saying exactly? That I and my lover are somehow dirty for having an interesting love life? Is that what you're saying?

That perhaps we don't meet your standards of acceptability because we are two consenting adults who enjoy each other to the fullest?

That perhaps we're even beneath you, as your stern school marm image who holds a ruler suggests (along with the message).

Fine, your company can give me an apology, or I can start posting on FaceBook and fetish sites how your company excludes us kinky folk because we don't meet your standards.

What are you, the Christian moral majority? Who gives you the right to judge what is acceptable and what isn't?

Don't carry adult coupon codes, fine. I don't have to use your site, BUT DO NOT DARE TO PRESUME JUDGEMENTS OF ME, MY LOVER, OR MY FRIENDS BECAUSE WE DO NOT CONFORM TO YOUR NARROW-MINDED STANDARDS.

Post Edit: because it would have been helpful to add a URL here: http://www.retailmenot.com/contact/

I can understand your anger towards such a site. I know a few sites will send discount coupon emails to people who sign up for them, without having to buy anything first. If I'm not mistaken, Stockroom.com is like that. It's one of the reasons I refer my friends to it. I've always been a fan of their items. It's a pity all the ones I owned were taken away.

Oh well! Just means I get to buy some new toys when I get the cash [sm=whap.gif]

maybe there is someone who should step into this niche.
I would certainly give discounts to people who specialise in adult orientated businesses.
I dont know of anyone who did such a thing tho, this is news to me.
Interesting tho , thanks.

Edenfantasys.com carries some decent gear for good prices and almost always has promotions of one form or another. You can even earn "points" for credit toward purchases pretty easily (I've gotten most of my gear for free from there just by writing reviews and clicking around the site over the past several months). If there's no active coupons and you want a guaranteed 15% off any non-sale items, enter code: UEZ

(Full disclosure: That's my affiliate code, and gets me a little credit towards further toy purchases too)

Extremerestraints.com has the same thing where you sign up for their email list and get discounts codes and special just about once a week. Anywhere from 10-25% off store wide a lot of times.

Do you have any tips for doing Eden's Fantasy points/review program? I've been considering doing it to get to review some stuff for free, but worried that I'll put a lot of work into it and not get anything

The best thing to do, IMHO in join the Student/Mentor program, read-up on the available mentors and see if one of them will take you on. Most mentors will have you do anywhere from 2-4 reviews before they decide whether to promote you to full-on contributor. I had a mentor that was AMAZINGLY helpful with advice on improving my writing/review style, and she said that mentors can even request free review product (up to $20 value I think) for students so long as it has less than 2 total reviews.

But either buy a couple of cheaper toys (or find a couple that you may already own on the site), join the mentor program as a student, and write a few reviews. Also, post in the forums, vote in polls, search the site, build wishlists and such, and scrape together points that way, and it'll build-up pretty quick. If I spend about 30 minutes to an hour on the site per day, I can earn about $100 or so per month in credit. I just have to keep from wanting to spend 3 or 4 times that much on all the toys that I drool over [:)]

Wyvern Creations on Etsy offers free domestic shipping on items other than furniture for Collarme users.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/WyvernCreations

Use Coupon Code COLLARME1.

Thanks

Sir Steven

Interesting... that might not be worth it then. For 15-30 hours a month I could find other things to do to make more than $100 (that would be more work safe to do on my downtime), and of course I wouldn't be forced to use it on sex toys. But then again, I wouldn't be forced to use it on sex toys. haha! Decisions decisions. Thanks for the tips though, appreciate it!
