He's a radical fundamentalistic homophobic, anti anything sexual asshole who deserves any shots taken at him. Dan Savage had a plethora of asshats to name 'santorum' after but chose him based on his positions and statements. The folks in Philly know him better than most so should be listened to.

Tweakabelle, saying he "lent" his name is not quite true. Dan Savage was able to add a new word to the English language and chose Santorum to name it after. Santorum didn't really do anything except earn the designation.

Santurom as the Republican nominee is a Democrats wet dream.While he has the fringe appea; to endear him to Iowan evangelical types he would be a disasterin the general.President Obama could ,for the most part,cancel any campaigning he intends to do.Independants and moderates would run screaming towards the Obama tent after getting a look at what is under Santuroms tarp.

It would have been far more accurate for me to follow your example and say his 'earning' the designation is his most distinguished achievement.
