Ridiculous.

My daughter is 30. Doesn't take proper care of her teeth, health, weighs twice what she should........but you will never EVER hear, read, see.......me, tell my daughter she is anything but wonderful as she is. Certainly I wish she would make better life choices, for her because I love her so much, but that is up to her. I love her as she is, her wonderful capacity to love, her gentle heart, her zany sense of humour, just HER.

Some people should not be allowed to breed.

This makes me feel sad.. for so many reasons.

I actually believe that kids in the 22nd century in their history classes are going to look upon the years between 1985 and now and think 'WTF?'

I love my daughter. I love her no matter how she looks but I do remember when she was younger (she's now an adult) and she was ahhem...developing and getting top heavy like I was before I had surgery, I told her that if one day she decided she wanted reduced I'd be more than happy to help  her and I would pay for it. She apparently likes her size though lol, go figure.

But never once did I tell her she was way too large or needed surgery or tell her she wasn't good enough just the way she is.

I  have a feeling the Barbie doll mom has some kind of mental issue after seeing her interviews on tv a couple of times, some kind of body dysmorphic disorder and now it seems she's seeing her daughter in that way as well. That's what's sad, that she's seeing her daughter as herself.

I see that as totally different (reduction)...it can be for health reasons, etc...it's not generally a cosmetic thing, kwim?
I see the chick in the article as abusive in a fucked up mental way.

Cosmetic surgery is fine but not at that age!!! Good thing its not legal for that to actually be done until she turns 16.. small mercies.. what i think is most disgusting is that they want to be WAGs... nothing like just being replaceable arm candy..

I met one guy who had 2 little girls, we got talking about them (how they did is school, their interests, etc) and turns out.. his goal for his girls for when they are grown up is to marry some rich guy..

Truth be told........it's not that uncommon. How many times have we heard/read women telling how their mothers criticized their weight, hair, etc...even at a young age. This is the same thing, with addition of surgery.

We could also play devils advocate and question why a parent would get a child braces if their teeth are not going to cause them actual problems later on. Or, had their child have a birth mark removed. Or a mild cleft palate that wasn't causing any problems, fixed. Or, have ears that stuck out fixed. Etc etc etc....

I think that what the woman is doing is wrong, but I also have to admit that many of the things we tend to find acceptable, a responsibility as a good parent even.......are not that different.

I see it as "Barbie" prepping her to pimp herself out to a sugar daddy. As Fornica said nice way to treat your child. "Get ready to whore yourself out (when you come of age), honey. Happy Sixth Birthday!!!!!!!!"

What an asshole!!

well,.. nothing wrong with marrying a rich guy but that shouldnt be a girl's one and only plan! Imo, a girl should use her brain first, set herself up in a good career or her own business and be her own person, first and foremost.. I just see that guy and Ms Human Barbie as setting their girls up for eventual failure.. somehow i dont think they would do that if they had boys instead..

If that is what each girl's goal for herself was, fine. This guy thinks that his girls PRIMARY value is arm candy? Raising girls to the idea that accomplishment for themselves is secondary or worse? Not realizing their own value in just being themselves??

From what he said, he didnt push them to do homework or excel at school, etc.. I think he spoiled his girls and want them to marry a rich guy so they can continue to be spoiled as adults.. I dunno, it seemed like he wanted to have them live on easy street.. the problem, even if that is how things went when they were grown,.. is that easy come, easy go... like someone winning the lotto but not having a clue to invest the winnings and save for the future.. and going from easy street to kicked out onto the street... Especially when younger prettier arm candy comes along..
