First, I hope I can express some support without sounding like I'm feeling sorry for you. You just don't sound like the type who wants me t feel sorry for him. And don't let the doctors write your future for you. Keep fighting, and you never know what new treatments may be waiting just around the corner.
As for your dilemma, why not but a lockable strongbox large enough for all of your gear. Write up a will (which all of us should have anyway) Mark the box "tools" and leave instructions as to who you want it to go to. Give the recipient the only other key. Lock the box between uses. Nobody will ever know what kind of "tools" are in the box.
