Someone want to explain how penile pumps and viagra are paid for by medicare, and in some cases medicaid will pay.... yet our government wants to limit birth control options?

The hypocrisy is this,,,

Men, get hard and virile... its not right you cant get your freak on!

Women, close your thighs and you wont get pregnant, Dont expect the government to pay for your mistakes.

Guess all the men will have to get freaky with each other.

I just love the idea of the Govt subsidising a bit of boy on boy action!

Just whatever you do, don't actually describe it as such! Dress it up in the need to defend and promote family and Christian values, and please remember to include a tirade against big Govt and Govt control encroaching into every aspect of life ...... You know the drill!

If you're stuck there's lots of pro-forma stuff .... Google Palin/Bachmann/Perry/Beck/Limbaugh etc and/or homosexuality and/or family values and/or .... then just change the occasional adjective or noun to suit - its that simple.

But please remember to keep the real deal hush-hush. We simply can't have people knowing the real ieal! Or - heavens forbid! - knowing the truth!

Newt called Mitt on that shit this morning at Meet The Press's debate.....told him that this refrain was getting tired, that he had spent all of the 90's and on running for one office or another.
We aren't supposed to notice that the only reason he spent so much time in the private sector is because the voters kept rejecting him......lol.

How refreshing it would be to hear a candidate when asked about abortion or birth control say; "I have no opinion on those matters and the govt. shouldn't be involved in them one way or the other."
"The govt." is supposed to be running our country not involving itself into The People's personal lives!
Yup, "smaller government."

erieangel -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 2:03:12 AM)

popeye, I'm with you on that one.  We need smaller government.  Unfortunately, to most republicans "smaller government" means a government that ends welfare and social security, doesn't see that all citizens have the basic necessities of food, shelter, clothing, for survival, doesn't care for those citizens unable to care for themselves; doesn't see to the education of our young people; but one that does legislate morality.

County Health Departments already offer well-woman visits and birth control options. On a sliding scale payment basis. If you are on medicaid or medicare it is free. Why do you not consider the County Health Departments a viable option?

tazzygirl -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 9:12:25 AM)

I never said they werent, Aylee. I was speaking more towards the attempts to cut such services to women. Many health departments have undergone such cuts as budgets get tighter.

I think much of this, for me, is about misplaced priorities.

kdsub -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 9:14:16 AM)

Keep in mind tazzy...most laws and policy are still determined by men... that should explain it.

If this were to only waste of tax payers money I would be all for it....[:D]

Butch

tazzygirl -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 9:30:42 AM)

If you look at all the complaints about both systems spendings, and how cuts are needed, and listen to those on such plans complaining about rising costs, or the lack of ability to get transplants that were pre-approved... we are justified in cutting those costs but also offering impotence solutions?

kdsub -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 9:38:31 AM)

No.... we are justified in cutting the military's budget...keeping our nose out of other countries business...and adding to the very same programs that others want to cut... Sex is important to many people and dysfunction needs are important and should reasonably be addressed.

Myself I would rather we be buying penis pumps with our tax dollars then outmoded tanks.

Butch

tazzygirl -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 10:21:02 AM)

I agree... however.. that wont happen. So, playing with the ball we are given.. is this a necessity in the grand scheme of things? I do realize sex is important. But is it as important as a liver transplant? Should we agree to allow sex to become more important than life?

I know Admins, this is going off the primary topic on the surface, but really is on-topic when viewed below the surface...

The problem that I have with smaller goverment arguements, stems from people (usually of the conservative/libertarian philosophy) that argue big goverment creates more problems than it solves. That a smaller goverment would make it easier for Americans to control goverment, and there by control how goverment governs the people under its control. I find the arguements are silly, since there are plenty of examples of countries around the world that have small goverments and are for all intents and purposes, slaves to a large multi-national corporation. Oil and precious gems (i.e. diamonds) are just two examples of commodities that corporations hold enough of an interest in, to control the goverment that should be left to the actual people.

Its considerably easier (and less resources) for the top 100 multi-national corporations operating in America if the goverment was made smaller than it is now. Those resources could then be turned into profits that benefits entities other than the American people as a whole. Drugs have become another semi-source of commodities in that they must be manufactured from several different sources. Corporations need to have control over those 'raw material' origins as much as the rules regarding their manufacture and use (less research, testing, and trials before consumer use).

A smaller goverment in America would be considerably easier to handle from the corporation's viewpoint. Less regulations, less eyes on corporate secrets, and more control over the media that might inform Americans of potential dangers inherent with medication that was not tested throughly. How many products within the last two years alone have had to be recalled due to any number of 'safety' and 'potentiall fatal' hazards towards Americans? Would they have been recalled with 'smaller goverment' that had less eyes, rules, laws, and regulations (not to mention the regulators and indepent testing facilities)?

kdsub -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 10:39:59 AM)

Will if we are playing with the ball given then liver transplants are now covered with some restrictions.

The time to complain would be if the liver transplants were cut because of the cost of penis pumps.

Why start now if dealing with reality and not the proposed future of services.

Butch

tazzygirl -> RE: Wasting money (1/9/2012 11:08:58 AM)

Transplants have been cut. Did you miss the thread about Arizona? How many penile pumps, creams and viagra are they paying for that could be cut for that money to go to other, lifesaving treatments?
