Democrats now have an internal threat to go up against Obama. This candidate actually makes Washington look sane.

Campaigns

1988
Vermin Supreme ran for Mayor of Baltimore as an Independent, in which he lost to Kurt L. Schmoke. He also ran for Mayor of Detroit as an Independent, in which he lost to Coleman Young. Finally, he ran for Mayor of Mercury, Nevada, but was unsuccessful in doing so.

2000
In 2000, Vermin Supreme proclaimed himself the "Emperor of the New Millennium". He has been doing so ever since and is a focal point in his presidental campaigns.

2004
Vermin Supreme campaigned in the Democratic Party primary in 2004. He received 149 votes in the Washington DC Presidential primary.

2008
Vermin Supreme campaigned in the New Hampshire Republican Party primary in 2008. He received 41 votes (0.02 %) in the New Hampshire primary. According to the Federal Election Commission, he also received 43 votes, nationally, in the general election.

2012
Vermin Supreme is currently campaigning in the 2012 election. The following are some of the milestones in this campaign:
Oct 29, 2011: He is to be listed on the 2012 Democratic Party primary ballot in New Hampshire.[11]
Oct 29, 2011: He participated in a satirical debate against a representative of the campaign of deceased British occultist Aleister Crowley.[12]
Dec 19, 2011: Participated in "Lesser-Known Candidates Forum" and 'glitterbombs' fellow candidate Randall Terry.[13]

Seems we can all share in his Supreme candidacy.

Wow. I had no idea of all this. Between him and "rent-is-too-damn-high" guy, the Dems are on the upswing! They should join forces.

On a serious note, Vermin Supreme would have been better than Coleman Young in Detroit!

tazzygirl -> RE: The most rational Democrat (1/8/2012 6:24:38 PM)

He cant seem to make up his mind if he is Dem, Rep, or Ind.... like many of our "elected" officials... he should fit right in.

Lucylastic -> RE: The most rational Democrat (1/8/2012 6:34:43 PM)

Yes, but that really isn't saying much. Most people I can think of would have been better than Young.

A serious note: It is kind of disappointment there is no challenge to Obama candidacy from the progressive Democrat side. I guess, it just shows American electoral system as being fundamentally undemocratic.

Lucylastic -> RE: The most rational Democrat (1/9/2012 8:06:12 AM)

and you have JUST come to this conclusion?

Fellow -> RE: The most rational Democrat (1/9/2012 11:51:54 AM)

Sorry, my conclusion is not based on this video. It is just a junk.

It is what it is. There isnt a serious challenge, though, in some states, there are people running against Obama. The same held true in 2004.
