 What's Your Winter Like?

I'm asking the question out of curiosity. Here, it's a very unusual winter. We have zero snow on the ground in my area. Last year at this time we had nearly three feet of snow. Normal (average) for this time of year is about 24". Tomorrow we are expecting record or near record high temperatures (near 50 degrees) and our normal average high is 24 degrees. There were people on the golf courses this past weekend, which are normally buried under snow.

My brother sent me this link today which is what prompted me to ask the question.

So.....what's your winter like so far?

ETA: Tell us where you are
I'm in east central WI

This has been a very strange winter. We had a few days of extreme cold, but it's been mostly mild (by which I mean around freezing) and we've had a few inches of snow so far.

Summer was pretty bland, too.

The only real snow we have had so far was in the autumn: we had a devastating snow storm the end of October which downed trees and caused a lot of branches to break, we lost power for more than a week.

We have had a couple of cold days/nights but more so warmer than average temperatures with only widely scattered flurries.

The weather here in the Pacific NW is bizarre.  December was the coldest Dec. on record, largely because it was slightly below freezing on a number of days.  Odder still is that December, which is usually very rainy had less rain than the month of July.  It rained a couple of days at the end, but not nearly as much as it usually does.  January has been dry so far, too.  Makes me think that the woods around here are going to be tinder dry this summer.  I am so glad I am moving in March, I have been afraid for years that there would be a devastating forest fire in my neighborhood, and this year might be the one.
Higher in the mountains, the ski resorts opened fairly early, but then had to shut down because of lack of snow.

I am in southern Arizona. In December 2011 we averaged 16 degrees F higher than December 2010. So far this month its on the same trend. Temps have ranged from about the mid-60's to low 70's.

In the high desert of Southern California, the days have been warming outside the normal range (I turned on the a/c while running some midday errands on New Years Eve), but the overnight lows are pretty normal. We had one day of rain, back in November, and nothing since, but that is a common pattern in a dry year.

We haven't been getting much wind, which is unusual here (not including the Santa Anna event back in December).

I'll take it.

I've had a very tough winter so far as I've had to decide between going swimming or just working on my tan.

We've had a couple of snows but nothing serious.  Mild winter, though not as mild as last year's.

For the last 3 to 4 years we have had near record snow totals in southern Wisconsin. No snow this year (so far) and I love it.

VERY mild winter do far. A couple of nights around 20 but It's been 50 or so and headed to 60 by Wed. Normal Jan highs are about 35-40.

Snow? Almost 1/2 inch so far.

Mountains of NE TN.

From what I can gather there is less rain than usual for this time of year, here in the Bay area/NorCal. Almost everyday is between 55-65 degrees and sunny

And here I was worried about missing out on Summer...

Here in SE Iowa it has been an extremely mild winter thus far. Currently 27 degrees at 6:07am. This time of year we are usually in single digits or below zero at this time of day. The only snow we've had was in the fall. A week ago our high temps were over 60. It's a weird one and I am LOVING IT!

Here in London it's a mild winter.. Not only has there been no snow but there's generally good service on public transport.

Very mild. No snow or ice yet and that's extraordinary. Although I feel we're owed this in exchange for the nonexistent fall weather. As we had two hurricanes in a row leaving roads flooded for weeks at a time and lots of damage.

We've been working outside the last couple of days, splitting wood and raking the driveway. And usually that's finished much earlier.

We do have to drop a couple of trees though that are growing into the power lines.
