Status: offline 		Yes, it's another of those annoying blogthing tests. I keep going back to them because for all of their simplistic style, they're amazingly accurate. I'm not going to worry about my score on this one until it tops the 50% mark.

Optimists expect people to do the right thing and events to turn out well.... and are more often than not disapointed.

Pessimists, expect people to let them down and life to dump on them from a great height... for them life is full of pleasent surprizes.

Ack!  Naive???  Hmmmmmm... not many questions regarding trust of basic human nature.  Me?  I'd accept somebody could say they loved me...I'd just insist on getting proof!  LOL
 
For example:  If I read posts by a Dom who is somewhat geographically close…and discover he’s recovering from a breakup and still decide to write him, I’m opening up a can of worms.

If he and I send a flurry of notes back and forth for a day or two, that would be fun.  If, by day three I’ve discovered he asks very little about me…but encourages me to continue writing him because he likes it, is there need for cynicism? 

If I notice his notes becoming shorter and more succinct, and mention to him it appears he’s too busy just now, that perhaps it would be good for me to quit bothering him and yet he continues to encourage me to write; is there need for cynicism?

If he says he’ll call again and then does not, says he’ll write again and does not; if he fills the forum with posts of looking for someone but still exhibits pain and anger at that breakup…is there need for cynicism?

I think not.  I think people have reasons for doing the things they do and sometimes those reasons have little to do with me.  Why get cynical?  I’m guessing the guy has a girlfriend already, is still licking his wounds, or is stroking himself for all the notes he gets from women he doesn’t even know.  <shrugs>  Why get cynical?   Cynical is when I disregard all the signs, subjugate my common sense, become obsessed with trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and then wonder why I’m not happy.

People do weird stuff…dating is a numbers game.  I believe ya have to keep yourself open to possibilities, do your homework and keep on enjoying life.  What happens happens.  If ya stay true to yourself, keep doing what you enjoy and have fun…what’s to get cynical?
