I wonder what would happen if people call the FCC and complain?

Have we descended so far that we must by law be subjected to the sight of bloody body parts but someone showing a breast which supplies a baby's first meal would be jailed?

I think I agree. There are a number of PSAs that run here that are very graphic and they are a bit upsetting. I have never bothered to call the FCC. I just change the channel, very quickly.

Where I disagree is: It's not gore/breasts. It's their gore/our gore. When I am no longer subjected to PSAs calling me a drug addict because I use tobacco and showing someone jamming a spike of "heroin" into their arm to drive the point home, I'll say that this guy's commercials shouldn't be allowed.

If I am "forced" to either stew silently while watching a PSA that shows diseased lungs or people that have been victims of drunk driving (and very graphic filming of their injuries!) or change the channel (and possibly miss some of the game) then, this gentleman should also have his say.

I get very scared when people start attacking free speech in any form.

You're right, though. I have been saying for almost thirty years that I would much rather my children are exposed to aesthetically pleasing body parts or "graphic" nude love scenes than the violence and other crap that has managed to make its way onto the airwaves.

(By the way, I don't think anyone's ever been jailed for an FCC violation although, I think a few months in the stir would have done Howard Stern some good)

Peace and comfort,

Michael
