MadAxeman -> End Of An Era (1/11/2012 6:06:43 PM)

Friday I will be attending the funeral of my great friend Dave Jack.
He was my bass player, brilliant companion and champion drinker.
A fervent kinkster, I can hardly recall a gig where he kept his clothes on.
I'll be seeing some people there for the first time in almost 20 years.
While there will be tears, laughs are also guaranteed.

Here he is playing with Amino and the Acids.
A legendary local and touring band.
Not all of the legend was about the music.

It would be cool if this new site got a few views,
comments and likes.
So you know what to do...'Yer bastards'

I'm sorry for your loss, Mad. As a fellow musician I understand the bond that can form with band mates. My condolences, and I'll head over to your link right now.

I am so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how devastating it is. I sincerely hope the reunion with the others gives you some healing and helps you carry your grief in a smaller package.

So sorry, all my best to you...hugs.

Not sure if this is of any great interest.
Back now and it has been truly life affirming.
Bit tender after all the tears, booze, jamming and kipping on couches.

We all had a sing song as he went into the flames, then onto a jam session and piss up that lasted days, spread over several venues.
He was brought to the crematorium in a transit van, band stickers emblazoned along the sides as if he were turning up for a gig (15 minutes late which was typical of the man). His coffin had a flightcase paint job, including an accurate picture of his own bass on the lid, knobs still missing.

There's a Facebook page about the event.

Further links will be up soon showing the live music.
It's been ripe reconnecting with some of the old bastards.

We all have people who think we're the nuts, others who become enemies.
Everybody loved him.
It was a celebration of a life lived to the full.
We should be judged on how we affect others.

He is unlikely to rest in peace.
Not while there's a party going on.
They tended to occur around him.

See yer later my friend
