Newt's attacks on Romney are, according to the article, not doing Romney, Newt himself, or the GOP any favors.  I suspect Ron Paul will be the chief beneficiary of them.  Unless Romney wins, in which case Obama will benefit most.

Status: offline 		Wow.  Just two weeks later, things have changed.  Newt's gone from a bad joke to being considered an actual candidate.  I still can't think of him as being legit, but I have to say things are going his way at the moment.

Status: offline 		I think his comments in SC are ludicrous, by the end of his second term hes gonna have America manufacturing is space.  What fuckin planet is he from?  His party cant get that done, and in fact opposes it right here on the third rock from the sun.

Status: offline 		The GOP success in getting unlimited money and from SuperPacs, is financing Newt's barrage. Hung by their own money-is-speech petard. Oh, and all financed properly...with a rich socially conservative...gambling billionaire.

I like George Will's word to describe Newt and I'll use it here...vulgar...hypocrisy.

Really, while Obama decided long ago he had to play ball, if this country elects anyone of these cretins over him...we will be lost forever, if we aren't already.

Oh, I disagree. He is the lone voice, soft and quite as it is...against much of the right has done. Yes, like all writers, he must appeal to his constituency of readers to keep them on board and will give the neocons a pass, but otherwise reflects a more shall we say...dedicated old-school conservatism.

Never bought supply-side, or tax cuts without spending cuts and certainly not before war and all of the rest. Didn't stay on the repubs too hard under W though as he has that duty in his writing to pay homage to those readers. (listeners)

Doing this when he substitutes liberal or progressive for what really is a corporate or capitalist culture of dependency that creates in them that sense of entitlement...he the capitalist, being the greatest, strongest and richest recipient.

After nearly a week on the defensive, CNN's John King reports tonight that Newt Gingrich's claim about offering witnesses to ABC News in his defense — to rebut the network's interview with his second wife, Marianne Gingrich — was not true.

"Tonight, after persistent questioning by our staff, the Gingrich campaign concedes now Speaker Gingrich was wrong — both in his debate answer, and in our interview yesterday," King said on tonight's edition of John King USA. "Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond says the only people the Gingrich campaign offered to ABC were his two daughters from his first marriage."

An important victory for John King in his ongoing effort to justify last Thursday's confrontation.

Lie detector and TENS unit (discreetly placed).  Good behavior gets you happy TENS.  Bad behavior gets you sad TENS. 

Each candidate has to pay for his own electrodes; one standardized TENS to be determined by the debate organizers.  Candidates will draw a unit at random from a stash of (n+2), where n is the number of candidates.

Hey Lucy! Hope you had a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
  Anyway, yeah ... there's a real strong pattern of the politicos throwing in these little remarks which audibly bolster their initial rather vague responses.
  It's like when  back up one of the neo-cons when their own peers accuse them of blowing dead liberals. Even though I am always quick to defend their behavior by saying I saw one of them 'move', it really has no basis in fact.
