Another (now ex) congressman going to jail. This time for accepting $75,000 for actively assisting a charity linked to the Taliban and Al Quaida.

(isn't that considered treason?)

At one time it would have been considered treason. Seems the only person the DOJ wants to try for treason these days is the wiki leaks private.

He was a congressman over 20 years ago, so it is not really a "now ex" kind of thing.

I think that it was money laundering that he was doing.

If you wish to call helping a so called "Charity" that supports the Taliban and Al Quaida get off the watch list in exchange for $75,000 just money laundering, feel free.

Personally, it doesnt matter when he did it. He was in the US Congress at one time and now he's a traitor to his country.

I'd agree with you Muffin. The only thing I'm wondering about is the fact that we have an ex Congressman who used that status to commit treason and aid the Taliban and Al Quaida but none of our Far Right posters seem to give a shit.
