The point being that if someone is behaving like an asshole (no idea what an asshat is) then it actually serves a purpose for others to point that out. I would like to think that thus we may be helping out posters or lurkers who might not be so clued up or aware of what certain people are doing. Frankly, the intro thread deserves to die a death if it gets turned into a ´Pollyanna thread´ as, I think, LadyHib called it. It is in many cases NOT being used for the intended purpose, so why are we being criticised for responding to that? I repeat, WHY has the infamous advertising thread been allowed to stand when many posts (including mine), which were not rude or offensive, were removed? Bravo, Lady Pact!! I stand up and applaud you for having the courage to say outright what I merely hinted at in some of my posts! I don't know how many times I've gone back and apologized to some innocent newbie for the way the majority of Y-O-U have treated him when he's attempted to introduce himself! You keep btching about the people this forum attracts, when it is the majority of Y-O-U who are so rude to the decent people, they don't ever want to come back! They wouldn't lower themselves to be a part of you! And trust me, the only reason I've stayed (even though you gave it your best shot to "tear me a new one" when I first arrived) is because I was dmned if I was going to give you the satisfaction of running yet another newbie off the site! You absolutely FEED off each other. One starts in and pretty soon the hive starts swarming, and you all start stroking each other's egos and wow aren't you just the toughest thing on this website. The rest of us are just shivering in our boots....NOT! Did anyone ever consider that by giving attention to those you deem "unworthy" of your presence, you are merely opening the gates for exactly the same sorts of people to keep pouring in? Stop giving them attention if you don't want them here. The Internet buzzes. The word will go out that they'll be ignored and they will crawl to another website.
