Twenty minutes is a good point. The tighter the clamp the less time I would leave it on. But for normal clothes pins, 20 minutes would be okay.

Start low and work up from there, go at 10 minutesbuilding slowly. I tend not to go for anything longer than 15 tops but it does depend on your Girl

It also depends on where you're putting them.
Hopefully some of the nurses will chime in; but from the teensy bit I remember, body parts that are furthest from easy access to blood flow, such as boobs, will not be able to take as much as other parts. I'm sure I'm mis-explaining this.
Nurse!?...

20 minutes is the general consensus, but I wouldn't leave her alone with them on even then, unless she was not bound and had permission to take them off it they turned an ugly color or something.

Greetings,

Be guided by her for the first few times, as only the person will let you know if it hurts beyond the normal capabilities. I might be a mean barstard, but for the first few times I always let the female know to inform me if it hurts. I do not want to harm a female that will occur long term damage and then she becomes useless. Let her go through the pain and let her inform you of the being too much too handle pain threshold and then go from there. You can either build from there or use that as a limit.

Also remember different females have different levels of bruise intensity. You can leave a clothes pin on a nipple for 2 minutes and she might bruise for a week, or you leave it on for 20-50 mins and no bruising.

Be well.

Frank Ar.

I agree with the others about it depending on where they are put. It also matters on how tightly they pinch. As a Domme I always tried all toys on myself before I did on a sub to get an idea of how much each hurt.

With nipples, they will actually start to go numb so simply asking if it hurts is not a good indicator. After 20 minutes permanent nerve damage can start to set in. This is also true with labial lips though not as true with the fatty portion outside of them.

This assumes she can tolerate clothespins at all. I can take some clamps, but not clothespins.

I think to start there has to be two-way communication on this one - in other words, she has to let you know if it is too much to bear. It took me a long time to work up to things like clothes pins/nipple clamps. Also, with clothes pins, different types feel different (plastic vs wood, large vs. small, etc.) - test them out on yourself first if you are unsure. If you barely feel you can handle them, then take that into account! But you will also need her feedback, because how one experiences pain is such a personal thing. I think 20 minutes is something one would work towards as a maximum - not a length of time one would start out with if the person is not used to experiencing clothes pins at all.

Nerve or cell damage 'can' begin in less than a minute. The longer you leave the clamp on, the greater the risk. Weigh the risk/reward ratio and proceed from there.

Since the possibility of nerve damage is relatively low, I'm willing to assume a high level of risk and have worn 100+ clothespins on my breasts for well over two hours and have never suffered any sort of cell or nerve damage. I have done this a moderate amount of times over the last couple and a half of decades. The marks were lovely, the scenes and times very memorable and if, in my dotage there is a repercussion to be paid, for me, it will have been worth the price and when I open up my BDSM photo album and look at those old pictures they always make me smile.

That's me.. I plan on using my flesh cup to the bones before I die since it's going to be pretty well wasted in due course anyway.

In the end, I'm worm food.. until then, I'm living, baby!

Read the other replies!!!

If it still hurts you are fine, once numb sets in, keep an eye on colour and temperature.

Remember clamps actually hurt more when being removed than being put on.
