(I'm not at all surprised how often Seattle comes up in so many comments...what I'm more surprised at is...why it doesn't come up every time).

A few years ago Seattle was rated as the "most livable" city. I think the rain and the high business taxes are the only things keeping it from becoming intolerably overcrowded. Also it's traffic problems have moved it lower on the list now.

(There are usually 3 or 4 perfectly sunny days in August ever year!)

San Francisco , Portland , Vancouver BC and NYC are my destinations of choice. Still owning a home in San Francisco, means I'll be back eventually [;)] - R
