SO glad that I didn't breed. That's the one thing that I can absolutely look back on and say that I did the right thing.

Seriously, I am happy I had kids.  When I was young, I never thought I would, or even that I would want them.  Only to find out it was and is an amazingly fulfilling experience.

I didn't want children and if I have any say in my next life, I think I will skip that experience. But I do love the two I have and the four grands they've given me.

Dogs are much less work, I am sure!!

I knew I didn't want kids from early childhood, and was always told, OH you will change your mind! It never happened. There are plenty of other people filling the population gap, it's all good.

Your personal preference is noted.  You detest the use of the word breed when it comes to human beings. And yet, I use it all the time in that context and will continue to do so.  Apparently others use it that way, too, and I assume they will continue to do so, as well.  Guess you will have to get over it.

My two are adults now (virtually) but it is still like an adventure being around them.  I wouldn't have missed the experience for the world.  Having said that, I certainly respect other peoples' choices in this regard.  I have never understood why it was OK to pressure people to have children, or even imply that a decision to remain childless is wrong.  There are plenty of people in the world, no reason to have more.

I have one and while I love her more than anything, I admit I'm not a great parent which is why I only have one. I would not put more through what my one went through with me.

I didn't think I wanted kids.
And then I had one. And then I had two. And then I had three. And then I had 4. And then I had 5. And then I inherited my darling step daughter, whom I love like my own.
And then I got divorced, and since, have been raising the entire herd on my own.
And then I got a huge dog, who thinks she's a kid.
I need more grownups in my life, I'm severely outnumbered.
And tired. So very tired.
But I wouldn't trade any of it, any of them for anything. I love being a Mom.
Ash, I hope you have the family you want someday :)
If you don't though...will you babysit for me?
