I have been talking to a guy I met online for over a month now, on phone and by email. Everything was going great I thought, but suddenly friday night he disapeared and I can't figure out why.

He won't return any text message, email....didn't answer the phone when I called.

I guess it is time to move on, but I'd appreciate any insight.

He got caught!

I'm shocked. This kind of thing almost never happens, here.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I confess to having "disappeared" on a sub online fairly recently, but it was for none of the reasons that have been offered here by others. In My case, I was prepared to go to pick her up at her home in another state as W/we had agreed upon. I mean all the details had been worked out, the rules and limits established, etc. But then I discovered that despite a lengthy discussion that had been held on My number 1 rule, she confessed that she couldn't live with it. I had told her that not abiding by that rule would be cause for release. So, on the theory that a Master's absence is often the worst punishment that can be endured, I removed Myself from her. I can't say that I handled it very well, and I've had doubts, but I made a decision and it's time to move on.

Did you tell her "Since you can't live with my # 1 rule, this isn't going to work out; best of luck to you" or simply stop responding?

The first demonstrates maturity; the second flakiness.

She received ample warning and knew what the score was.

kitten2012 -> RE: Dom disapeared (3/3/2012 8:43:22 PM)

I had practically the same thing happen. Only my so called Dom text me and said he decided this was a bad idea and not to text him again. Im hurt and question how I let myself trust this person. Are all Doms like this?

jennileigh8182 -> RE: Dom disapeared (3/3/2012 9:17:05 PM)

Of course not, but a free site is always going to attract a fair share of the lowest sort, so this sort of thing is going to happen. It happens a lot; brush it off as him being incompatible with you and move on.

It is my opinion that a man interested in a relationship (or who had been interested in a relationship) would have a vested interest in the person they'd been speaking to, and would have made it a point to have at least one last conversation with said sub, and explained exactly what you feel she did wrong, what you're going to do about it and why.

You come across as wimpy and timid otherwise, rather than domly and determined. (imo)

Why would you even say that - are all Doms like this? Really?

I don't think you need much insight, he decided it wasn't going to work.

It's totally unacceptable to suggest that all Doms dissappear or vanish like if they ha*PLOP*

Of course not. I'd venture to say that the men who are invested in their relationships, (and who aren't big scaredy cats) don't pull disappearing acts. I've never had it happen, but it would be confusing (to say the least) to me.

I have always been impressed with the ones that disappear, then reappear months later,still proclaiming undying love.[8|]

Don't forget the ones who disappear and their brother reappears....er, appears....weeks or months later with stories of Master's untimely demise, here to fulfill his brother's deathbed wish for him to take over the ownership of said slave. [8|]

Would you have preferred if he lied to you and said he was madly in love? I'm sure you've dated guys a couple of times and then decided after knowing them better that there was no chance for a relationship between you.

He was honest that he didn't feel for you what he needs to make a successful relationship. That's a mature thing to do. If you date, you get rejected occasionally. The alternative is never to talk to anyone.

Really?!?!?

Well, considering I know someone who used to pretend to be an identical twin so he could sleep with a roommate...

Is there no end to what they come up with? [:D]

I think we know the same person.   Add, living in Montana, to this scenario and it is!

sexyred1 -> RE: Dom disapeared (3/5/2012 9:11:51 AM)

Look, it is called the online candy store syndrome.

One piece of candy looks good and sounds good and then another shiny piece of candy pops up and someone wants to try that flavor.

This happens in vanilla and kink online dating; it is just a fact of life. You cannot get that upset; you can get cynical, but not upset.

Kainundeva -> RE: Dom disapeared (3/6/2012 2:06:57 AM)

it´s always happening: people just stop responding without giving reasons. they just stop. no answer anymore.
see it this way: somebody who does that was not worth talking to in the first place. especially for a dom... he should have balls. no regrets, move on.

there IS a possibility of a accident or something in that direction, happens every day, but a very tiny one.
and in this case: move on.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: Dom disapeared (3/6/2012 4:36:22 AM)

Some people are not emotionally available, for whatever reason. The internet has made it harder to suss these people out, b/c many of them are so very good at pretending to be emotionally available.

I'm not sure there is anything a person can do about it other than to not be emotionally available yourself until you know the person over time, and get some real time trust established.

Best, Chatte
