Congratulation on the big 20k.

I'll fess up to a little something here, in honor of the big celebration. You are often, to many people, I'm sure, someone whose opinion on a matter weighs greatly. You usually are factual and level headed enough to be considered knowledgeable and a source of great advice, but with enough emotion to keep from being flat on the screen.

While I joke now and then about being intimidated by you, that's not quite correct. I have often looked at you as the source here for "THE" answer on a topic. "Formidable," let's call your presence here.

A little turning point for me? A tiny little victory over my own concern for what I thought to be my lack of experience/understanding of all this that we do? It was one day when I read something you wrote (I don't recall what it was) and I completely disagreed with you. From there on in, I was like, oh, jeez - if LadyPact can't see it this way, then nobody on here knows anything more or better than I do. We're all the same.

So, I suppose you are the bar that I measured myself against, and when I felt comfortable enough with myself in this world to disagree with you without reservation, it felt oddly good. Not that I actually posted about it, or anything. I'm certainly not going to start a fight with you in public. Duh. :)

Anyway, I hope that made sense in a good way.

Kaliko it actually makes perfect sense, to me anyway.

Something that I think often gets lost around here is the ability to disagree and still hold the person you are disagreeing with in some regard.

Most of the time, when I disagree with a post or poster, I don't type anything. It's ridiculous to ME, just to write "I disagree" just for the sake of saying so.

Certainly I do, and don't feel there is anything wrong with doing so, IF there is an alternate point of view that adds to the conversation in some way. Obviously that is really a matter of personal opinion...

Congratulations on reaching the 20,000.

It doesn't matter so much how many they've pulled, because nothing can take away all that what you bring to these boards, the community, and to people's lives.

I'm another one who is appreciative of that 'something' you have brought over the years.
