Thank you for posting this. I thought this was an
especially insightful description and appropriate at this time.

From the article:

"She is best known for "At Last," the powerhouse ballad that became a hit in 1961
and which has been enshrined in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Bending and stretching
the notes of the bluesy melody to reflect the hard-won realization of a lifelong desire,

Thank you for sharing this, Judy. A truely beautiful force has been lost in the passing of this amazing woman. She will be greatly missed.

You're all welcome. I just saw it somewhere else online, and I was so shocked. She was such a wonderful singer. I was really sad to see that she had so many health problems over the years. Really a big loss.

Beautiful, beautiful voice. At Last was her best known
song but she left behind a treasure chest of
great music.
She had some tough times to. Has anyone else
heard the urban legend that she was
Minnesota Fats daughter? When asked she
