CruelEnthrallmnt -> Just a thought that I'd like to share (1/20/2012 11:19:33 PM)

Something I've been rolling around in my head for a bit.

Basically, the thought that has matured so far is this:

A small group of individuals of differing orientations on several axis, ie M/s, m/f, etc, that schedule and plan meets at a local playspace, private or a dungeon, to have really edgy scenes that purposefully blow people minds.

I'm posting in this forum first, because I'm sure that there are few dominants that have had this idea before.

Mr Cruel

You mean like a play party?

I'm pretty sure thats been done once or twice.

Sounds like a fun night for all involved, Sir!

Let me know when this goes down. I want to be there [;)]

Not just a play party, but doing more the edgier stuff as a group. We all see flogging, some guy with a whip that barely touches the skin, even some knife play and maybe full suspension.

What I'm talking about is something more imaginative, not just the middle of the road stuff. Something that could have theatrical qualities, ie costuming and something close to ritual in it. Think of the best scene you've done, but take it to a cooperative group level.

I demand pictures! Or video. Or to be there. Any of the three.

littlewonder -> RE: Just a thought that I'd like to share (1/20/2012 11:38:16 PM)

would hold no interest for me.

I'm also confused about what you are asking here.  Are you saying that once a month (or whatever interval that you had in mind) the people that have decided they are interested in edge play as a group all participate in the same scene?  Maybe you mean that all members of the group will participate in the same theme of edge play for that night (cuttings, for example) but will all do it in the way that they want with who they see fit?

Until the point that I can determine what you are really asking here, I can't say I've thought of the idea before.  If I had, the question would probably make sense to Me now.  I would need clarity to know if I would think it's a good idea or not.

I do see some potential issues.  If this is a commitment with an entire group, the more likely you're going to run into hard limits of individuals.  With this in mind, your group isn't necessarily going to be able to follow through.  Next, you have to consider who is in your group and what kinds of edge play they have the experience to do.  The edgier things get, the less chance you have of people having done it before.  In addition, you may or may not have something of an issue in reconciling your venue and your goals.  If you go to the public space, you may possibly run into various dungeon rules that aren't going to allow you as many types of edge play as you would like.  (Many clubs do not allow blood anymore, for example.)  If you go with a private venue, depending on what is available, you may not have the space that would be needed for an audience.  (You did specifically mention that you wanted to blow people's minds.)

I'm also a little confused about your choice for posting the idea.  Not that it isn't thought provoking, but it would seem that you would be doing this with people in your specific area.  You would still have to repeat the process among your pool of possible participants, so I'm wondering if you've thought about running this by your local group?

What you'll need to make it a success is a theme...

Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder where you're at.

Or something, yanno?

So you're looking for people who won't have any personal enjoyment in the scene being done except for scaring/mind fucking people who haven't consented to that? Because that's what I'm getting from your post. That you want to come off as somehow better or more than everyone else.

I'm imagining you getting ready to do this and discovering that nobody is watching. Wouldn't that take all the fun out of it for you?

But but, this happens at least 5 times a month in my area... what kinda fun is that?

(we are sick people here in the city of brotherly love, and we do love our blood play)

lizi -> RE: Just a thought that I'd like to share (1/21/2012 10:23:19 AM)

I don't know, sounds like an adult themed theater group putting on performances to me.

Sounds like kinky train spotters as far as I'm concerned. Ooooh this week we will be seeing knife work! Oh I better bring my pac a mac.

Are you kidding? That's a normal Saturday night in LA.

Hey I love Tom Petty & Slash.

littlewonder -> RE: Just a thought that I'd like to share (1/21/2012 11:03:41 AM)

Ok I think I understand what he means. It's like in the movie "Interview with a Vampire" when the theatre troup in Paris "pretend" to be vampires, putting on a "vampiric play" and normal people payed to see the play but in reality it was all real but the audience didn't know it. They thought it was a play, kinda like the circus freaks at Coney Island that people pay to see but yet everyone is gawking, trying not to watch because it's so gross and looks painful but yet can't stop watching.

If you're talking all kinky people doing this to each other without any "vanilla" folks watching then I don't see how there would be any mind/scare fucks. Everyone would be into it and no one would be scared. Would kinda defeat your purpose.

sheisreeds -> RE: Just a thought that I'd like to share (1/21/2012 11:59:17 AM)

I've done this quite a bit, and it's a lot of fun. My kinky friends and I are a pretty cooperative group. For awhile we were running a rape squad, it was amazing fun.

My partner and I have done a lot of theatrical scenes, some with planned help from friends, others were more impromptu. My favorite was when we re-enacted the ball whipping scene from the remake of Casino Royale. While it was only my partner's and my plan, I recruited some of our friends to intervene in case he got feisty (and of course he did).

This stuff is crazy fun, and is limit pushing by definition, however: takes a lot of planning, trust, and skill amongst the group members. The rape squad was no joke, it was a lengthy application and screening process, and was at least a month of prep work. If we didn't know the intended victim particularly well we made sure we were best of friends and knew them inside and out before anything happened. We had lists of limits, the person's partner on board, we knew the person's schedule and acceptable rape times, safewords, and our roles all firmly ironed out beforehand.

I'm friends with a local troop that has done some pretty spectacular edge play demos. I've had a friend get lynched, and another get buried alive in planned group edge play scenes.

Though I like impromptu edge play scenes far more. Largely because they tend to have more personality, and of course spontaneity.

Your proposal at this point seems more like fantasy. Make the friends first.

And no, this isn't an original idea, at all.

That's exactly what I was going to reference in my post! The Interview with a Vampire thing or lots of stuff in the Laurell Hamilton books with audiences and vampire stuff going on - usually a bar environment as entertainment. Then I figured maybe not many people would know it, so stuck with the adult themed theater thing. Heh heh, now I know that at least you'd have known what I meant!

Never borrow money from a man in a fedora.
