There's a contingent of people that come into this lifestyle thinking that just because they like to be tied up, flogged, whatever in the bedroom, that makes them a submissive. Trust me. It does not.
Try thinking of this lifestyle in almost two separate camps: There's D/s (or M/s) and there's BDSM. I frequently tell people that "D/s is who we are and BDSM is what some of us do .
