so, it seems that dodd and the mpaa backers are starting to get tough on the politicians they thought they had bought.

"Those who count on quote 'Hollywood' for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who's going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don't ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don't pay any attention to me when my job is at stake,"

Its funny... we went out for the man's birthday dinner tonight. On the way back, we passed the occupy camp here in Pittsburgh and stopped to talk to a few who were at the camp. One of the signs set up said..

"Politicans are not for sale"

We chatted about that for a few minutes... the consensus was thatit should have said

"Politicians are not supposed to be for sale"

This is hilarious.  30 years ago, the motion picture association was belly aching that the VCR was going to destroy "Hollywood", instead they've made billions off of the technology.  "Hollywood" needs to be a bit quicker in thinking outside the box.  They can make another fortune off the internet but haven't done so, and its been around for 20+ years.

The MPAA is the epitome of racketeering.

If you're and independent filmmaker and NOT a MPAA signatory, you're going to get a NC-17, and they're not going to help you make the cuts to get an R from them.

( Who appointed them Censor to the United States again? )

Of course, once you as a filmmaker sign up with say, New Line, then the MPAA can't stop falling over themselves to help you.

So, given they're just like the Mob, shouldn't be be really concerned about them buying legislators?

I mean, any legislator pushing their agenda hates the Free Market.
