I've watched this movie several times and admit defeat! I have no idea what the meaning of the dead bug in the end scene signifies.
Any theories?

Edward is a neatfreak and has ocd. He likes everything in order, neat and clean, etc....she places the dead bug in the bed to provoke him into "punishing" her.

I have other issues with the movie, but I can relate to the "dead bug" mentality.
Sometimes I do things to get in trouble. :3

Am I mean to say, I wish someone other than Maggie was casted?

She played a good brat, but it would have been interesting to see Alysson Hannigan in that role, true enough...

It's just, I couldn't take her seriously. I have NO clue why. In any of the movies I watch her, there's something about her that is so distracting.And...TOTALLY AGREE ON ALYSSA.
