I think you mean Article 7, section 1

{Article I.}
Section. 7.

All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills.

... Late night typonese, oops ...

Quite right.
And he has announced that he will, for the third time, break this law.

And the Democrats failed to get a budget, even when they controlled both chambers, and the President has not forced the issue.

This failure of leadership to meet the fundamental responsibilities of governmental power should be a constant theme in the campaign.

lol..... Maybe you cons should run on that........?<bwah-ha-ha-ha!!>

Obama's failure to lead? That he would rather spend his time trying to keep his job, than actually doing the job? Oh hell yeah.

Perhaps you could quote the law he is breaking.

I get up every morning and have coffee, it is not a law, it is a habit.
I find it metaphysically insoluable to discuss constitution and law with those of the right, since they havent any knowledge of or inclination to get any in these matters.

I guess that I wouldnt waste any time on putting together a budget so it can be denounced by a dsyfunctional house either.

In short, Fuck em.

Owner59 -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/24/2012 7:33:33 AM)

I think the cons are going to have to do better than ascribe their own personal/political failures/flaws to their opponents.

This do-nothing/lead-no-one congress claiming the president isn`t at work?..........lol....good luck w/ dat.

This obstructionist congress calling the president an obstructionist?.....oh please go with that......[:D].......

It`s a little like kids who respond to a dig with the same exact dig.....only repeated back......."you`re a wussy"....no you`re a wussy".....you`re a lame`o"....no you`re a lame`o"...you`re a slow-poke"...no you`re a slow poke"....and on and on and on.

Truly the height of intellectual discourse.

TheHeretic -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/24/2012 5:50:09 PM)

So why no budget, or even a debate about a proposed budget, when the Dems had full control, Owner59?

Are they that afraid of the public finding out what they are doing with our money?

54 of them there Blue Dogs..... full control... not.

TheHeretic -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/24/2012 6:27:18 PM)

That's calfshit, Tazzy (not even up to being called bullshit). The Blue Dogs wouldn't allow a discussion of the budget? C'mon.

mnottertail -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/24/2012 6:33:16 PM)

Somethings amiss here, what budgets (or proposed budgets that didnt pass) were not talked about?

Cuz I remember some shouting.

Edwynn -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/24/2012 9:52:58 PM)

Any responsible budget plan would restore the former capital gains structure, which has gone from 28% to 20% to 15 %.

We don't have to 'remember' the shouting, it's still going on.

After giving more to the upper echelon in tax breaks and 30 years worth of significant deregulation in putative service to more "job creation," here we are, 10 million jobs in the hole and a worldwide wrecked economy. And they are still shouting.

I've got this big roll of duct tape, whatever should I do with it?

Ron and I are sorta trying to behave ourselves here, Edwynn. Don't ask questions like that right now.

Edwynn -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/24/2012 10:03:36 PM)

You actually spelled my name correctly, beyond your previous level of a three year old, so I might take you at your word.

The point intended in any event was that the experiment has failed, by account of (nearly) all in the business of finance or capital management and OECD pronouncements on the matter, to such extent that further calls for more tax money to the wealthiest or further destruction by deregulation should be dismissed outright by any thinking person.

Again, thanks for speaking as an adult.

The title of this article is misleading, but the first sentence therein gets it right.

SOTU marks the 1,000th day since Dingy Harry Reid and his Dem cohorts allowed even the introduction of a budget bill.

LEAST productive Senate in history

The Democrats are the new "Know-nothing" party.

mnottertail -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/25/2012 7:39:38 AM)

couple of comments, it would be cohort singular as in :

... marks the 1,000th day since Dingy Harry Reid and his Dem COHORT allowed even the introduction of a budget bill.

and the republicna party is firmly entrenched in its know-nothing party roots.

I think that introducing ratpoison bills under the guise of a budget bill in the senate is frivolous, and I wouldn't allow those bills introduction either.

somewhere in the beginnings of this thread there was some mumbling about a 'reasonable budget bill' not being passed, but there was no reasonable budget bill introduced.

Musicmystery -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/25/2012 8:03:21 AM)

Yeah, it's nothing but theater.

mnottertail -> RE: The Do-nothing Senate (1/25/2012 8:11:39 AM)

But of course it is theater, MM.  Misusing cohort by way of cohorts and implying that it means confederates or collusionists or something along those lines is a far reach by half, since there are only 100 in the senate, and he doesnt have that many in the senate in his party or amenable to his postions (Reid, ergo est).

And that doesnt even bring up any other misplacement and misinformation promulgated in this thread regarding the Do-nothingness of the Senate.  They stopped the ratpoison republican bill in its tracks didn't they?  That's certainly something.
