Are the people you personally voted for doing the job you sent them to do?

If you didnt vote for them, they cannot be part of your answer.

I say no.

Status: offline 		Yes...But I must qualify this answer with trying to do the job. There is a difference between trying and doing. One person cannot alone change policy. They can only try and lead and hope they can convince others.

Something else...no politician can or should necessarily match my or your thoughts exactly. I vote for the one who most closely matches my way of thinking. So I don’t expect them to do all that I would want.

Status: offline 		Senator Corker is actually trying to get something accomplished and seems to be his own man.

Congressman Roe is just turning into a typical career yes man party hack politician in his first term. If he keeps it up, he will lose the primary.

Status: offline 		I voted for the first time and the election resulted in the coalition.

My frustrations at the balls up that has followed shows in the fact that I will never bother to vote again (and yes, I know that's a bit silly, but I don't care. It angers me).

At the local level (Town), yes.

At the state level (Commonwealth of Massachusetts), yes.

At the Federal Level: Yes.

I reconize that my elected officals are not automations nor answer solely to myself, but to many others. They may have supported ideas or concepts I did not agree with or understand. My Representative to Congress is very educated, intelligent and willing to listen to good ideas if the speaker is behaving as an adult (something the Tea Party has yet to master). I do not require them to be of a certain religion or pass some silly test that proves their 'idealogical purity'.

Let me ask you all, what was that job, especially at the federal level? I need to clarify.. what was the job you sent them to DC to do?

Status: offline 		Nope. I voted for Kay Hagan, the worthless shrew. Primary supporter of SOPA/PIPA and when I sent her an email she sent me one back telling me my opinion was irrelevant because it was in the "economic interests" of the country to abridge our freedoms. I also voted for Obama, who has been anything but a proponent of liberty. NDAA alone is enough to make me weep for that vote, and that's far from his only point of departure from what I thought he stood for. No one else I voted for won, so that makes me 0 for 2.

ETA: I sent them to propagate civil liberty and maintain what little we have left. They have done none of the former and have actually made things worse on the latter. Truth be told I mostly expected it, but nonetheless I had a glimmer of hope for them.

Status: offline 		I saw my Rep. in the House entering the chamber a few steps behind President Obama tonight, so I'll have to give him a "yes."

Other than him, pretty much everybody I voted for in the last couple elections have lost, so the question is sorta moot.

Status: offline 		Bob Casey would be a yes, pretty much.  I voted for him to uphold democratic philosophy. 

I didn't vote for Mike Kelly and I won't vote him to be reelected, either.  As much as I disliked Kathy Dalhkemper, I had to vote her because her views were closer to my own than Kelly's.  Next year, I'll vote for the person who I think has views closest to my own, as well.  I wish Phil English would go back into politics.  He's a republican and I'm a democrat, but he had done many good and decent things for this congressional district during his years in Congress.

Status: offline 		Well, in general, those I balloted for who won office have voted more or less in line with what I'd prefer. What they haven't been, though, is effective at making their case for doing so clearly, or at persuading their cohort to stick together, because otherwise they'll get moneybagged out of office (and that goes all the way to the top).

When I vote--primarily because of local issues--I don't support any
politician. I fill in the blank circles instead. The only politician I've ever voted for was Ron Paul. I will never vote for the lesser of two evils.

I voted for Ron Paul so he can destroy our government. Since Ron Paul is an
anarchist, I know that he will do the right thing.

Myself I told Obama with my vote to end the Iraq war…he did it.

I told Obama to end the Afghanistan war…he is doing it.

I told Obama to save our country from the financial mess Bush got us in… Everyone was on him about the bail outs but his programs saved the banking industry as well as the Auto industry and actually put money into the government coffers with interest. We are slowly coming out of the recession in a way that will last over time despite the constant criticism and obstructionism of the Republican Party.

I told Obama I wanted to overhaul the health care system in America and he has done it. Now we will see if it works or not.

I told Obama to be fiscally responsible and to work with the Republican party for reasonable cuts where possible. I believe he has tried, in good faith, to come to a compromise with the Republican leadership but they have decided to stonewall until the coming election.

Claire McCaskill is a no nonsense legislator that was instrumental in bringing aid and relief to Joplin Missouri tornado victims. She has represented Missouri and Missouri business interests in congress admirably. She has sponsored many bills and is a ranking member of numerous committees. Otherwise she is doing a good job of representing my state of Missouri.

Well, most of the people I voted for didn't
get elected.
The ones I did vote for who were elected
are the President, a couple on the state level
and a couple of local (alderman). I would/ will
vote for them all again.
I'm glad Barack Obama is president and
think he's doing a good job.
I would like to see universal healthcare
but I didn't expect Obama to work towards
that. Of the the three Democratic
frontrunners his health plan was the
most conservative. He said he wasn't
interested in overhauling healthcare
or basically said that. What he passed
is a drop in the bucket. I also think
healthcare costs need to be challenged.
But I knew when I voted for him that
he wasn't going to push for single payer.
Because he's very moderate.
I think he's tried to work with the opposition.
Certainly he gave it the old college try
but to no avail.
I'm very happy with him on foreign policy.
We're out of Iraq, Bin Ladin went boom.
I like very much how he handled Libya and
Egypt and how he's dealt with Iran.
Libya, Egypt and the Arab spring couldn't
been forseen when voting but I voted
in the belief he would handle foreign policy
with a cool head and he has.
So, overall he has acted as president in
line with my hopes when I voted for
him. I am glad I'll get to vote for him
again and am hopeful his second term
will even better than his first.
the state and local people I've voted for
have all tackled issues that are important
to me. And I believe all the people I
voted for are people of integrity.
But I'm pragmatic about politics and
politicians while remaining idealistic
about issues that are important to me.

Myself, I dont see much of anything coming out of Congress. I see laws related terrorism. I see death strikes. I see war.

I voted to send our people home.

I voted for people to improve our economy, to make it strong, to do what was necessary to cut and tax as needed to get the country as a WHOLE back on track.

I see bickering and backstabbing and tantrums being thrown. I also see a lot of stalling and threats and no attempts at compromise.

I voted to get our financial house back in shape. Wall Street down to the local banks.

I see lots of excuses and talk... and very little work.

I see many people here state that those they voted for are willing and eager to work towards those goals.

Then why are those goals not being realized?

Status: offline 		Yes. I voted for Scott Walker for governor of Wisconsin. He said he would eliminate the states 3 + billion dollar deficit and he did just that. He did so without raising taxes, just as he said he would.
