Write down everything they said and did. You need to keep a log. And you may need to give your attorney a heads up if you think they're going to refuse you the right to home school.

I do find it interesting that so far, with only one recent exception, it is only girls that have been affected.

Quite. Accordingly I wonder whether all of these girls were on the pill, which in essence causes a fake pregnancy and hence is likely to affect the antiviral immune defense.

Hi Lithia
I'm so sorry you and your family are going through all of this.

I agree with those that a 2nd (or 3rd) opinion is a good idea, and I also suggest seeing both a Neurologist and an Infectious Disease specialist.

If you can, try to write down as much as your entire family can remember as this will help both the physicians and the epidemiologists.  Figuring out the cause of disease sometimes takes a bit of detective work as well as a lot of ruling things out.  A few things to try to jog from your memory-- a good epi will ask you about a hundred questions.
when did the symptoms begin?
what was happening in your daughter's life before/during--stress, special event, illness, new medication, diet, everything you can think of
medications--old, new and changes.  this includes OTC as well as prescribed
food/diet changes?
when do the symptoms manifest?  what makes them better? what makes them worse? when do they start/stop?
family history of disease on both sides, physical and mental history
travel history--where has she been? go back weeks/months--any travel outside the states? region? climate/area?
exposure to animals? chemicals? environments?
allergies?
has she been around anyone else with the same symptoms? how long before hers developed?

I also hope that your physician will run a full set of bloodwork and urinalysis.  If you can, look up her medications in the Physician's Desk Reference to see if there are any side effects that might ring a bell with her symptoms.

I don't know what your resources are medically in Kentucky. You are welcome to CMail me off thread and I will see what I can locate for you or any colleagues that I might be able to find in KY.

I am wondering if this is because there have been other similar cases in your community and it isn't public yet?

When you pick your next spot, do a bit of research to make sure it has the kind of medical care your Bear will need.
(I know you will anyway but it was on my mind.)

Lithium, just know that I am there with you in regards to your daughter. Don't let the doctors bully you around, piss on the managed health care and a kick in the balls to the homeschool folks. I was in the same medical problem last year and now I am trying my damnest to control what happens to me.

So far, I got feelings back in my legs but I still get the shakes. I am bipolar so we don't know if the meds are causing the shakes but I can live with them. I hate going down down the path of no meds...hospitalizations, talk therapy, violent outbursts.

Just give her a hug from me. Any support helps, I believe.
