I agree with Buzzzzz (add or delete a coupla z's!) I also feel that speaking in the third person (at least in the beginning) sounds pretentious and can be tough reading at times.

stickbreaker - Well, of course they're not responding if you're not writing! If someone Views me but doesn't write, I figure he's not interested.

An email that hooked me was one that mentioned our common vanilla interest, that he'd be in town for such, and some light flirting.

What you can extract from that is that it showed he'd read my profile, we had something in common, and he kept it mostly vanilla.

I think you will find that al that is a lot to expect in online only as most of the girls are either taken or looking for real life...

I would be -put off- by a man speaking in the third person, describing himself as a Master and also if they view but don't write i would assume they were not interested.

Best way to make contacts imho, if you see a girl you are interested in, read her profile, write out an introduction personal to her, eg why you liked her, what caught your eye (not all about kink)

I'd kill your 1/26 journal entry - save negative/depressing things for a private journal. Also, it's white on white, so impossible to read unless you are a nerd like me who knows how to highlight.

Additionally, have patience. See How many years have you sought a dom or sub?

Sounds good. I will try not to put people off by writing negative stuff and save that for a different setting. :) I've been seeking a SUB for about 4 years off and on. I wasn't sure about it because I had incorrect assumptions about the lifestyle at first and dismissed it. After reading a little more material online about it, and checking out this site I changed my mind.[:)]

Welcome to CM Stickbreaker.  I just wanted to say that I really am impressed with your polite responses to all of the comments made in this thread to you.  This could so  easily have turned into  a very negative experience for you however by keeping your cool, being polite and seeming eager to listen and learn you have now got people willing to  take some time to give suggestions.

As others have said -  be patient, be realistic, read the various forums as there can be some great information (as well as a lot of dumb stuff), post and make yourself known through what you write and lastly, enjoy yourself.

Just checking back to see if people left any more advice. Sorry I haven't been on for a couple of days...my vanilla life had to be tended for a while.
