It was named Queening because originally, the Queen did it. She could hold court, dispense edicts and justice while sitting on a specially designed chair that would allow her support and also access to her private parts. Petruchio, I watched a program some months back on the history of the Papacy. At one point early in it's history (around the ninth centry), one of the Popes turned out to be a woman, or so it was rumored. Anyway, afterwards it was said that a physician checks the anatamy of the Popes before they ascend to ensure their rightful gender.
