Thank you, sir.

Regarding the Plame affair; however deeply I dug into it, I could not find any credible evidence against the fact that she was a CIA officer and under-cover operative running a counter-proliferation operation. The CIA will only allow that she worked for them, it being a classified operation making this understandable on their part. But her task in running the operation and the leaking of classified information by administration officials to the press are verified sufficiently enough that that is what the prosecutors and all other lawyers in the case are going on as they proceed with several law suits in the matter.

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." Hanlan's (Heinlein) Razor.

Or, the original:

"Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence." Napoleon Bonaparte

There was plenty of stupidity and incompetence - and politics - involved with the entire Plame Affair, including hers, the CIAs, Armitage, The V-Ps office, and certainly and especially Joe Wilson.

the apologist approach may work just fine and dandy in the laymans world of  "I watch the news", however when it comes to elected trustees of the government under compact to protect the constitution  its not incompetence but "negligence", "breach of trust", "breach  of contract" and treason by "sedition".

Nothing done in government is done by ignorance, its ALL done by "calculated" design.

Reality check -> "if their lips are moving they are lying."

On July 7, the day after Wilson's original Times article, White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer took back the 16 words, calling them "incorrect:"

Fleischer: Now, we've long acknowledged -- and this is old news, we've said this repeatedly -- that the information on yellow cake did, indeed, turn out to be incorrect.

And soon after, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice acknowledged that the 16 words were, in retrospect, a mistake. She said during a July 11, 2003 White House press briefing:

Rice: What we've said subsequently is, knowing what we now know, that some of the Niger documents were apparently forged, we wouldn't have put this in the President's speech -- but that's knowing what we know now.

That same day, CIA Director George Tenet took personal responsibility for the appearance of the 16 words in Bush's speech:

Tenet: These 16 words should never have been included in the text written
for the President.

Tenet said the CIA had viewed the original British intelligence reports as "inconclusive," and had "expressed reservations" to the British.

Great Ron.

Not a word contradicts the Senate report that I quoted.

Wilson was - at best - a confabulator.  At worst he was a liar.

Anyone basing their opinion on him, or anything he has said either hasn't done their homework, or wishes to believe something that is false.

I had no opinion on whether or not Wilson was anything, I was opining that any yellowcake crapola after july 7th  that came out of the whitehouse was Bush lying knowingly.

Edwynn -> RE: Julian Assange (from Wikileaks): "Hero" (1/31/2012 12:41:19 PM)

Not an opinion, actually. A fact.

Did Joe Wilson's "lies" cost Iraq over 100,000 civilian lives and US citizens over $3 trillion? Got another Republican led report on that question, like before? Are these the same people that told you that Val Plame was not running a counter-proliferation operation for the CIA (contrary to every creditably evidenced fact)?

Just curious.

If you are trying to tell us that telling the bigger lie is the way to go, there is certainly some bit of history to support that.

bradley manning, on the other hand, is absolutely a hero.

Well, that's one perspective. Another is that Bradley Manning is a sniveling little shit who violated his contract, and his oath,

What penality would you prescrbe for all of those who break their oath?

One of two things are true.
Either you have been deceived and manipulated or you think you can deceive and manipulate us.
From your track record I would vote for the latter

Real0ne -> RE: Julian Assange (from Wikileaks): "Hero" (1/31/2012 8:07:53 PM)

as a side note, most cities and their ordinances, that is their procedures completely violate peoples due process rights.

The problem with rights of course is that if you do not know what they are you have none and they can do whatever they want to ya.

The really bad part about rights, is not only do you need to know what they are but you also need to know how to handle yourself in court and because there is such big money in the rubber stamp "penalty" biz, you also need ot know how to trap the judge so that if they rule against you that you can sue them also.

These people breach their oath many times pre day and think nothing of it because the average tv watching joe has no clue what is really going on.

Wouldnt want to be called a conspiracy theorist after all.

Of course the average joe gets his rights trampled and his ass handed to him every day also.

Gotta love wiki leaks!

The Breathtaking Hypocrisy of Julian Assange, Kremlin Pawn

Well yeah, all good Americans should be incensed over this.

I mean, the least he could have done was to find instead backing from, say, Saudi Arabia, home to and active supporter of the most radical sect of Islam, the Wahhabi, fount of an abundance of terrorist ideology (and action), with whom the US has an excellent relationship, or perhaps one of those Southern African dictatorships to whom we sell bazillions of $ in weaponry.

So yeah, damn that freakin' hypocrite.

Truly breathtaking.

Well for some perspective...Russian corruption or western civilization whether a 'kleptocratic' authoritarian oligarchy or a corrupt, capitalist plutocracy, will not fall or change now that their secret diplomatic back-stabbing or ill-gotten billions are common knowledge and creating that much of a common culture.

Trust me kinkroids, all of western, so-called, democratic society's leaders would be every bit as corrupt as any...if they could be. They'll have to wait a few more years, that's all. Yes, western capitalism has for years...had very strange bedfellows.

The perceptive reader would have taken that post (in combination with others) as pointing out that the lies by the administration were much more serious and more damaging in every regard than any putative misleading by Wilson via the petty nonsense you are trying to dredge up here, and that you are quite obviously OK with that, as displayed in your posts here and elsewhere.

What would also be obvious to most others than yourself is that I was pointing out that evidence supports the notion of the bigger lie being more successful in some episodes in history, due to, unfortunately, a sufficient number of people like you as willing audience for such lies.

okay, so, there's this guy right, and he says he has all these neat government secrets that are really fucked up and horrible, thing is, all the information you could ever want on how fucked up these shitty fucking morons we've put in power is readily available through google if you take the time to care, so he sticks his neck out or whatever, SO FUCKING WHAT? What you think we don't know our government is evil? Jesus fucking christ jackhammering his asshole with a hitachi magic wand, the only people who don't get that our government is evil, are either too doped up on meds to pay attention, too stupid to pay attention, or just absolving their consciences by completely ignoring anything that happens around them like they're stoned out of their minds on opium in the middle of a goddamn prayer circle to save the fucking ego of the american people. What the hell are we going to do with the information, start a revolution? FUCK THAT, we've got bills and taxes to pay, mouths to feed, and no good reason to get shot, I mean it's only freedom right? it's only the future of the free world as we know it, no one wants to die for that and if they do they're already off getting shot at by psychotic religious zealots because we just can't get enough money with the oil under our own damn country.
