I can't stand the security things at the doors of stores.  There's a video game/computer store in the only mall for miles and miles near my school.  It's pretty nifty in that they're really rather inexpensive, and it's not a big chain store, so that makes me happy.  However, their little thing that deactivates the security strip doesn't quite work right.  It usually works well enough to let me get out of the store without it going all crazy, but I walk in, or out of any other store in the mall, and I set off all sorts of alarms.

I'm just going to start popping smoke grenades, doing my evil laugh, and bolting for the emergancy exit if it keeps up.

The siren thing is pretty humiliating. If they get too restrictive they could face a false imprisonment lawsuit.

Add to that- that most employees have no idea if you ask where something is. I cant blame them....

I recently was arguing with an insurance clerk- she wanst sure the specifics of the policy- but if you are sick figure it out..and check their website. The fine print. The exception to the exception. Void in Guam. Not valid in Lousisinana,  Blow me.

Gag me. That company went bye byes, I switched, and have better coverage now, Yay.

Anyhow- I am glad I am not the only one who noticed the siren buzzer is on teh intrusive side.  :-)

I had this happen to me yesterday. I went into Circuit City and purchased a couple of DVD's. After paying for them, I start to walk through the front doors and the buzzer goes off. I stop, go back in and look to see if anyone is going to come check my bag. The guy at the register was gone and another guy towards the back of the store was waving at me to come back to him. There was no way I was going to walk all the way back to him so I did another quick look to see if anyone else was around to check my bag. No one else seemed concerned, so I turned around and left. Buzzer went off again, but I didn't care.
