When the foster dog I adopted after Bones failed to work out, comes to bed and lays her head on my shoulder and takes a nap with me while I watch tv or nap myself.

When she jumps for joy and wriggles in utter joy and jumps on me and kisses my face and tries to shake hands when I come to get her after being gone.  She melts mommy's heart.

For me it was the moment I held my first completed novel in my hand after struggling to learn my craft since 2002.

Writing isn't easy! My congrats to you for even starting. Now all you have to do is keep at it until you reach 'The End'. This may be a no-no, but check out my web site; there is a lot of info on the writing process there:

All my best, and the rest please excuse my brief diversion.

Things that bring me great joy...

Interacting with others who are able to be open, light, joyful, playful, honest, vulnerable, strong, passionate, generous, and "present." There's nothing in the world like deep connection with others.

Opportunities with the sick or wounded (mental, emotional, spiritual, physical), human or animal, that allows me to express my innate, intuitive, sensitive nature and skills in such a way that helps or heals them on some level, which in turn, helps and heals me.

Hunting wild plants and mushrooms, and harvesting and preparing them for food or medicine.

Cooking well for people for whom I care.

Singing when my voice is strong and sound.

Sensual play.

Laughing!

My grown children sneaking into my house to hide Easter eggs and a basket. They said it was for all the years I did it for them.

That's wonderful! How thoughtful!

Congratulations! I love to write and often have dreamed of writing a novel, but I know in my heart I don't have the attention span or imagination for it. I admire those of you on these boards that have done so - I believe there are a few, yes? That takes some real staying power.

Best moment ever: Just a few years ago on a beach in California, a small pocket of a beach nestled between rocks and rising cliffs. Just me and my former, no one else there, sitting on the rocks and drinking wine from the bottle, and there in the water in front of us - closer than we would have thought could be - a whale breached twice. It was my first time ever experiencing that and it was magnificent. So beautiful, and so close, and witnessed by only us. He always joked after that how he paid the whale to breach just then because the timing was just perfect.

Oh...and the day I was at a pizza place with my daughter and I overheard a couple of college kids call me a MILF. BEST MOMENT EVER!!! :)
