ORIGINAL: ghostraven I am not going to lie. This concept confuses me. I am currently considering a slave who is into pet play. I have zero experience with this. I have been reading and looking but I cannot for the life of me understand. Is it just the humiliation of being treated as sub-human? Or is there a deeper thought here? A darker side that I simply do not see because I have not encountered this before? ghost, do you have actual animal type pets? IME the serious petplay folks "become" their critter as far as the possibly can. I know a woman who is a pug. she EMBODIES the pug, in all the charactaristics, behaviours, etc. When she is in pug mode, you CANNOT interact with her in human to human ways. scritch her tummy and she wriggles in joy. scold her, and she does the whole 'scolded dog' body language. Toss out a treat for her and she chases it, and happily noms it while her butt wiggles in happiness (anyone who has ever interacted with a pug should be able to visualize this perfectly). If the girl you are speaking to is a kitty, ask her to tell you about HER CAT (meaning her inner feline - yes, I know that sounds trite, but thats the best I can explain it, since I'm not a 'pet'). I hope that helps a little. and please, ignore whatever kind of snark/shite/assholey remarks NS is bound to fling following my post. You know how cats and dogs hate being placed in cages? Like you need to transport them somewhere? Does this person also run and hide under beds when she sees a straight-jacket? HYSTERICAL! You are killing me over here, but maybe thats the plan.....putting on my kitty muzzle.
