"Still looking for Super Bowl tickets? You may be in luck, but you're going to have to work for them. Jason Elia told ESPN 97.5 in Houston that he is giving his tickets to the person who gets him the most Twitter followers. Elia, a television writer who lives in Nashville, spent $8,000 on two tickets to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium. He was going to take his football-loving girlfriend to the big game, but his plan went kaput. On November 7, he found out he had bladder cancer. When he told his girlfriend, she dumped him. In an interview with Trending Now, Elia said his girlfriend "could not handle the stress of having a boyfriend with cancer." To make matters worse, Elia was planning to propose to her on Christmas. Perhaps the cruelest twist of fate is that his ex-girlfriend still wanted the Super Bowl tickets. According to Elia, his ex-girlfriend says the tickets are rightfully hers because he bought them with her in mind. Well not only is Elia not giving her the tickets, he also held a contest to get rid of them. Using #WinMyExsSuperBowlTickets, he has gained thousands of followers so far, and he's planning to announce the winner Tuesday. Elia stresses that he's not doing this out of revenge. He says he "wants to give someone the same enjoyment that he thought he was going to get with someone he loved." The good news is that Elia has an 87% chance of survival, and he now has more than 9,600 Twitter followers." I hope this guy beats the cancer and finds someone who deserves him.

Bless his heart, , while I dont disparage her for not being able to handle the cancer diagnosis... going after the superbowl tickets is a cunty thing to do. I hope he gets over the cancer, and finds someone who will care about the good and bad for his future.

Ive known people unable to cope with the realities of being around a cancer diagnosis... to be able to take the responsibility of being a cancer patients support. Its daunting, its scary, its frightening, its not for everyone. If she was married to him, I would have a different expectation, with caveats. For thinking she deserves the tickets ...is beyond bitch, hence cunty

Okay,I see the issue is solely one of ranking....I put Bitch with a capitol B above "cunty"...lol,different strokes and all that.I have a feeling we are both shooting for the same level of derision [:D]

Elia's ex-girlfriend was considering bring suit against Jason Elia in court to get the tickets, on the grounds that he intended to give one of them to her. I'll take a wild guess any judge worth his or her weight in gold would throw this case out and force her to pay Jason Elia's court expenses. I believe Mr. Elia will more likely find a few women who would look pass the cancer for the real Jason Elia that his ex-girlfriend failed to see. I hope and pray that Mr. Elia's cancer is over comed and he makes a good healthy recovery! I once had the privilage and honor of being the boyfriend and sub to a wonderful Domme that had cancer. I wasn't her boyfriend/sub because she had cancer. I was her boyfriend/sub because I honestly loved her (and she really did love me)! Sadly, a few years ago, she passed away. Still, she was/is a remarkable woman to have been around!

I've recently heard that the gf is accusing Elia (who is a tv writer, by the way) of making this story up. Given that the entire thing is a massive publicity stunt to promote himself, I'm actually inclined to think the gf is not entirely off the mark. If he wanted to just give the tickets away, surely he could find two deserving people to give them to without having to go through this massive Twitter publicity stunt. Something about this whole thing doesn't add up for me.....
