My girlfriend and I really enjoy BDSM play and regularly discuss our fantasies. I've been lurking in online forums to get inspiration/ideas, or hear how other people relate to BDSM activities.
I constantly read about people being advised to do stuff with the local community. Now, we live in the Sierra foothills, wtf kind of community can we expect to find? Was there one here, hiding behind some locked door? Are there people regularly meeting up to talk about kink? Are there groups getting together for play parties? Are these people all healthy? After considering those questions, I realized that they were rhetorical because the answers seem like a pretty certain 'No', and because I wasn't really sure that I would go to anything like that even if it were available. We are pretty creative in the bedroom, and will never get bored/boring, with or without outside help
But, I still like to try and find answers to questions, even if I don't know the value of the information. So I googled it, and didn't find any hint of any "community" that happens here "in real life". No surprise. But, I did find this site.
So, I guess I'm reaching out to people for the first time. For one thing, some of the scenarios that we have in our heads require borrowing people. And everybody can teach you something. People have great ideas all the time, and I might like to try out a few of em. So it's time to explore that in a safe controlled way, first by talking with people who are open-minded, and then possibly getting together to work out a fantasy or three, or even hang out as homies, who knows?
I'm 31 and she's 28, we're both active and in pretty good shape. I'm the one talking on the board, but I'm not sneaky unless it's meant to be a surprise.
