Indeed. I think it's longevity says more about the declining intelligence of the viewing population than the quality of the programme being viewed.

Status: offline 		You have one news station reporting things with a slant to the Right and several reporting with a slant to the Left.

Assuming half the people are right of center and half are left of center, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the ONE station on the Right will get more viewers than any of the SEVERAL on the Left.

On the other hand, if they didn't get the most viewers and by a large margin, I'd think they were truly pitiful.

Status: offline 		It's not that surprising that Fox is number one, since a lot of the other news networks have fallen into Network Decay. I used to watch CNN Headline News quite a bit, but not anymore. Way too much fluff and talk - not enough news.

I use http://www.1stheadlines.com/ to check for the top stories, but I hardly ever watch the news on TV anymore.

Aren't there are any networks which show actual news?

I was reflecting the other day as to what that sort of television tells the rest of the world about the U.S. and more importantly, the people in it.

Fox is just a byproduct of the faux 'reality' television fad.

Yep. Comedy Central. Two shows in particular come to mind.

Rachel Maddow (if you know who she is ) Made an excellent point: That even the most watched news show isn't much compared to the greater percentage of television viewed. Being the most viewed "News" show is like being the tallest member of the lollipop guild.
