The whole problem in the first place that the morons didnt follow the instructions, if they did there wouldnt be a counting problem. Florida has large concentration of morons, they basically have chimps voting. If you are from Florida and are not stupid I apoligize for insulting your state.

LOL  we'el this one LIVES In florida.. not "from" florida.. but isnt that like a prejudice of sorts?  An over generalization?

kind of like "all men are pigs" and "all women are bitches"

rah - every where, every state, every gender, every nationality, every country, everything has a large concentration of "morons"  as you yourself has proven it.   ooooooo that was a well laid comeback.  No offense tho = ) Its only a joke (even if it was dead on)

Moloch -> RE: Big story of the day (6/5/2006 9:27:17 AM)

Im part Polish   whats your excuse? Oh wait you are from Florida! [8D]
No really if the people who were voting would read the instructions there wouldnt have been problems.
As for my bias it comes from personal experience. Also my friend teaches at community college there (He is from WNY) he has nothing nice to say about the intelligence level of the residents and or the students.

Is DOJ Saying That Gore Won Florida?
http://www.truthout.org/docs_02/05.27A.jvb.doj.fl.htm

You can google as well as anyone I imagine. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that there was about a minimum of 10 ways the Florida count was jinxed by Jeb and the other good old boys there.

Do you realize that people in other countries take it as a given that U.S. elections are now rigged and that the electorate is just a bunch of idiots?

Personally, I don't care for that reputation one bit. How far do we intend to fall?

What a biased full of sh** article.

The Surpreme Court didn't rule to avoid a "constitutional crisis" (whatever that is). They ruled on the equal protection standards that the DOJ is currently threatening suit under. (Remember, they had a differing standards on how to recount and what to recount across the state.) Part of the DOJ action involves the fact that Florida has yet to put into a place proper recount standards. I could go on about the inaccuracies of that article, but I believe this is sufficient.

I have and I have researched the situation with some fervor. If the link you provided is any indication, I understand why you're not aware of the facts. You don't find gold digging in cowshit.

No, I just disagree with you in that what SCOTUS did was either necessary or constitutional.

Somehow I think that if the parties were reversed you wouldn't be saying that.

Regardless, please tell me how a recount that is only taking place in select districts using differant standards in differant districts counting a differant portion of the ballots in each district ISN'T a violation of equal protection. I'd love to hear that one.

Chaingang -> RE: Big story of the day (6/5/2006 6:06:47 PM)

I didn't vote for Gore. All these guys are jackasses. If Gore or Hillary run, I doubt I shall vote for either of them. But Bush is a corporate cock-sucking thug and weasel and I didn't vote for him nor shall I vote for his successor.

But the integrity of the voting process is important. And I am sorry, but I do think what SCOTUS did was preemptive of what would actually have been the correct outcome.

FWIW, and it doesn't change my mind about his running for Prez, I have really liked every speech I have read from Gore since the 2000 election. But I won't give him a break for so small a reason - he should have been that forceful and eloquent when it mattered, not in hindsight. Frankly, I want to vote for someone whose got a pair - and that leaves most politicians out.

Lastly, if you detect some kind of Democrat leaning in me it is merely that I dislike the Dems less vehemently than I dislike the Repukes lately. I haven't yet seen a Rethug I could admire - although I do like the idea of fiscal responsibility, that's just BS in practical reality. Of course, both parties are up to their eyeballs in corporate funding.

Not worthy of its own thread, but still worth reading.

subrob1967 -> RE: Big story of the day (6/9/2006 5:20:07 PM)

Funny how no one mentioned the attempt to block military votes by the (drum roll please...)  *gasp* Democrats.

Voter fraud is prevelant in BOTH parties, not just one.

When I was younger, I always considered every politician from either party to be hypocritical weasels only out for themselves. Today, I mainly view Dems as being hypocritical weasels only out for themselves, and the Rep leadership as being completely insane religious fanatics ... and I know which of the two I'd rather have running the country.
