Its been a warm winter down here in Va. Have not been on site because of trying to keep my nose above the waterline, which is not easy these days. And yes flat tires is a pain in the ass and I have to get my membership back in the AAA, because it does help.

By the end of February, I should finish my probationary period at work (and get a slight raise). My latest godchild was born January 11, and has finally decided that he maybe likes me. ;)

Don't faint all, popping My nose in here for the first time in MONTHS. Been really hectic, travelling, writing long applications for Uni jobs, interviews all over the country ... and finally got a 1-year job in My old city Perth. Wayyy too much traffic esp as we have to live 45k south of the city in our big rig, so the days are very very long. Still frantically trying to finish the PhD, so am not socialising or distracting Myself with other things. So apologies for My absence, it is likely to continue for a few months yet, but I do think of you all and I hope all are well. I'll come back when I can! Maam Jay aka violet[A]

Better late than never....... This is rather shoddy for an update, but I'm basically all consumed in something that I have been working on for some time now. I've only let the cat out of the bag with very few and it still has to be that way for this time. All I can really say about it is that I won't have a decision for a little while longer. Everybody out there just wish Me luck. In the meantime, the rest is going pretty well. I feel better than I have in months on the medical front, even though I'm still counting down the time until spring. They say that happens around here some time in May. I may be doing a booth at the upcoming fetish ball. Something like a carnival twist, but with kink type explorations. I'm still waiting to hear back if open flame is acceptable before I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm rather versatile, but My first preference is definitely wax. It's all for a good cause, (it's a charity event) so I'm game with whatever the organizers decide. Nice to see you, MaamJay!

It's gotten really f'ing cold here in the last week, and its that really humid cold that soaks through your clothes and skin, straight into your bones. Not fun when you've gotta walk about 2 city blocks from your last class to your car. In happier news, we are rushing headlong towards July, and even sooner, spring break, when I get to see Red again. If my calculations are correct, my tax returns should be enough to pay for most of the wedding, so yay. My best friend is coming down from Detroit next month as well, so I've gotta make time for that too. I've been doing alot of writing lately, mostly along a political bent (though I have written a few romantic things for my lady as well [;)]). Most of it just stems from my wanting to grab the 330 million people or so in this country and scream "Wake up, you idiots"!

HA! Good luck with that one, Geoff!! I am working on getting everyone to just freakin VOTE, though most of us are just so unhappy with everyone, it's a lost vote. Work on getting the electoral college repealed, mmkay? That is one institution that has outlived its usefulness. (YAY for July! I have chosen my outfit, an am READY for humidity!) (Many cousins in Canton, many summer weddings...)

Unfortunately Hibbie, its hard for me to even speak, much less yell at anyone right now. I have a nasty cold and its causing me to have a death rattle, so to speak. Yeah, not fun. I'm glad you're excited for July, I think everyone is [:)]

Hi everybody - I'm doing well. I've been on break and have had the opportunity to visit a number of friends. I'm getting some things together for the future. As always, I have been shopping like a fiend since it's really the only shopping I do all year long. I've a whole new wardrobe for all four seasons which always makes me giggle with pleasure. I've gone for the froo froo, girly look this year - all pinks and greens and ribbons and ruffles and such. I picked up some sexy red boots too which just makes me walk tall and proud. [:)] My eyes seem to have pretty much healed after surgery last summer - one last appointment next month (I hope!). I'm healthy although being back home, I've put on a couple of kilos. Other than that, my health is excellent. I've been able to help several of my friends through their surgeries while I've been here. It feels good to be able to help people particularly since they are all family of the heart. Career-wise, I've made some decisions about the next step in my life, and I'm actively writing some pieces I hadn't thought I would write. I seem to have a bit of a talent for a whole new genre, so I'm going with it. I've got an art project I'm working on with another artist. We are making a book for a community we are in. They will sell it to help people get scholarships. I'm proud of that. Really proud. Another group of people that are family of the heart, and it's good to be giving of myself to them. This sentence has been running through my mind a lot lately: You have a duty to this family. Having grown up in foster care and not being terribly close to my bio family, it's a new and kind of jolting thought. I do have a duty to the people I love. It's not a heavy thing like it is for some people. For me, it means that I have a place I belong, and that is a humbling and wonderful feeling. So there it is in my world. It's a sunny and happy place. And I'm with LaT on the LP front - you, lady, are a tease! best wishes, sunshine

MaamJay, it is good to see you and hear how you're doing. It will be nice to see you posting when you have time! Take care and I hope things slow down a bit. LadyPact, I have to agree with LaT! Tease! I can't wait to hear what you are up to and I hope it is all you hope it will be! Sunshine... its great to see you! You sound as busy as ever, with very interesting things going on! Your heart and outlook on so many things is sweet! I'm glad that people have a lot going on and life is being kind to them... but we do miss so many of you! Come see us as often as you can, you are missed!
