> What, they don't know about cameras where they work?!? If they were smart, they'd be a better class of criminal... Even then, cameras are ubiquitous, even if it's not as bad as Britain yet. An entire generation has grown up under the camera, from elementary school on up. All public buildings in my town have cameras. Most stores. Most office buildings. They're stuck on poles and hung beside traffic lights. Lots of houses have them. You have people who have grown up knowing that 99.9999999% of the time they can do anything they want in front of a camera, and nothing will happen to them. So they ratchet their actions on up, until finally they do something that makes it worthwhile for the police to get the recordings and detail someone to sift through them. At which point, it's all a big surprise to the perpetrator... nothing ever happened before!
