My educational background is in behavioral science and criminal justice and I am a true crime fanatic. A few of the crime-type websites I peruse daily are:
www.dreamindemon.com
www.theweeklyvice.com
www.badbreeders.com

I've been a librarian for about 10 years and I love books. Besides various library pages, I visit these sites alot:
www.amazon.com
www.goodreads.com
www.fantasticfiction.com (Love it!)
www.abebooks.com

I love movies as well so I visit these alot:
www.imdb.com
www.netflix.com
www.somethingweird.com (exploitation cinema site - love it!!!!!)
www.terrorfeed.com

Variety:
I like reading "The Village Voice" online at www.villagevoice.com
For great vintage clothing, go to www.modcloth.com
For leftist, liberal t-shirts, bumperstickers, etc: www.northernsun.com
For some bizarre t-shirts: www.rottencotton.com
www.theawl.com (Be less stupid)
www.cracked.com (entertaining and funny)
www.wolframalpha.com (computational knowledge engine)

Just a few that I have links to on my laptop. My desktop has many more. I may add more later but these are all great.........luci

Ohh.. looks like a lot of good sites I'll have to peek around. Some of my favorites (which aren't already listed here)..

Photo morgues of various sorts, such as http://www.morguefile.com/ or Google "photo morgue"
The Library of Congress website, http://www.loc.gov/, which has a lot of fascinating stuff if you don't mind digging around
I'm surprised these two were not mentioned already, http://www.deviantart.com/ and http://www.gutenberg.org/
(Yes, I really like photography and reading.. :-P)

Actually, there are not many sites I consider a favorite, as I often just use Google to find sites related to whatever interests me at the moment..

EDIT: Hahahaha! The Library of Congress URL got censored! How ironic. :-P http:// w w w -dot- l o c -dot- g o v :-)

I saw someone list pinterest. And let Me say, if you have important things to do, or have to be on time for things...DO NOT GO TO PINTEREST!!! It will consume your life. It is the greatest site (other than here of course, lol) ever! Someone can invite you if it is still taking a long time for them to send you an invite. But it is pics of EVERYTHING. Literally everything. I love it.

That being said, I like DYAC.com, facebook, people of walmart is hilarious, and I can't think of anymore.
