You know, I work damned hard for my money. If I purchase something, then decide I want a little bigger, better, whatever, then I'm going to exchange it & lay out the extra hard earned money. If the bigger, better version has an issue then I have every right to return it for one that works correctly.
If some people have issues with this, then might I recommend getting a job & working your ass off for something and see how the other half lives.
Name calling is totally uncalled for. Next time might I recommend maybe just moving on to the next topic & ignore a topic that will cause you blood pressure issues. Anger management may also be a good option.

Well, crap. Lookie was talking about the intial return of the smaller tv.

Okay, I got that now. Thank you, Lauri. I missed that one.

It doesn't excuse Lookies behavior, but at least I get it now.

Lookie, I apologize. I didn't know you were talking about the smaller set. You're right. It did not suit his purpose, but the contract with the store includes a return policy, no questions asked although we told them right off the bat that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the smaller set and (I had been wearing my 9er gear at the time) they laughed and asked if we were buying the bigger tv for the game (which we were) and they were more than happy to take more of our money and provide us the new television. They are happy, we are (with our second new bigger tv) also happy.

Win/win.

Well, not turning on ain't necessarily broke. Could be something really simple, like a fuse, or a reset button. Sometimes it helps to unplug something for 10 or 30 seconds, like resetting a modem. Maybe it DID fry the flux capacitor. For me, schlepping shit around is the LAST resort.

My bitches are quite different.

I did try all those things. Plugged into a different socket, replaced batteries, unplugged all the game units, cable.. all that stuff. Then Himself came home and did all the stuff I had already done and the tv just wouldn't turn on. It might have been just a fuse, I really have no idea! Reset button? I didn't know tv's even came with reset buttons. LOL

This is the tv - don't know if you can tell if there is a reset button from that info or not. I guess I should read the manual again. [:D]

The new set we picked up is plugged into the same outlets the other set was and is working just fine. [:)]

Wow. I will join in your bitch about Visio. Mine lasted under 30 days so I was able to return it for a full refund. It did the same thing, just would not turn on, though the light in front was amber.

I actually wound up finding a sweet deal on craigslist, got a Pioneer 1080 HD 64" Rear Projection for $300 just after the Visio fiasco. Have been pretty happy with it since.

That's funny, I and just about every member of my extended family all have Vizio flat-screens of various sizes, and none of us have had complaints. I guess there's always a lemon to come along, but overall, I've always heard good things about them. In fact, this thread is the first place I ever heard complaints.

Now I'll probably go in there and the thing will blow up [:D]

I love my LG. The Dynex here at the shop is.........meh. The Vizio in the breakroom is meh. The gym has a hodgepodge but the one in the women's locker room is Vizio and meh. Apparently I've become dramatically spoilt with my LG.[:)]
