The parents say their children are fine but my God this poor girl looked like she was a junkie she couldn't keep her words straight. I ask you why is the world so fucked up?
In my opinion, the world is less fucked up than 30 years ago. And will continue evolving in a right direction. For instance, now we find out about those assaults. Weren't there any sexual assaults to children in the 50's, for example? Of course they were. But nobody would uncover that, not even to report it.
It's like the ironic way in which some people refer to the "collateral" damages. Well, if somebody drops a bomb over you, it's not much relevant for you if it on purpose or collateral. But remember, not so long ago, in the Second World War, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed. No government, these days, would dare to do such a thing, even in a war. Because their own citizens would bring them down.
And still, yes, there will always be things that makes you wonder "what's wrong with these people"?...
This is the point I was going to make. We are no worse than we've ever been. It's only that it is now being reported. Here at the farm, we are book addicts. We have a set of books that has the big news stories of the decades here in the US. One decade per book. If a person sits down and reads those, you will realize that people have ALWAYS been fucked up. It only gets reported a lot more now.
And yes, children have always been victims. We are just now trying to make changes in that regard, listen to them, persecute their victimizers. Before it was usually just a dirty family secret.
