I see one liners and ones not reading my profile as two different things.
1) One liners are usually boring and give me nothing to talk about, so I choose to either read their profile and respond or else just delete and report as spam.
2) As for not reading my profile...there is a big difference between not having looked at my complete profile, where my button lights up red, or possily finding my name on the home page and reading my profile and most of my journal entries. I won't delete and report someone for sending me a letter without having made my red button light up. Someone could even click the button for complete profile just to be seen as having lit it up, while not bothering to read anything... Their note could mention something from my profile or journal entry, and unless someone has done this then I doubt my profile was read.
I am usually polite, cuz they might be new or just dumbasses who need a clue. On rare occasions I'm a bit "rude" and just use the delete and report as spam feature.
Blocking is saved for those who behave like complete asses. Of course, some of those in that category will keep making new profiles for a while just so they can drop a nastygram or two into my mailbox...hovering the mouse, to read enough to find out, and then deleting the letter unread usually works after a few times.
