ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr There is no first amendment protection for any speech that causes a disturbance or entices people into an illegal act. That's the silver bullet, here. It would take some "pain and suffering" on the part of normal people but, if every time these idiots showed up, a riot (or fist fight, I guess) ensued, they would soon lose their protection. Fist fighting is a disorderly persons offense (within limits). Michael 1-Just to note-these folks videotape everything...and I mean everything they do. They look to fund themselves with lawsuit money taken from anyone foolish enough to attack em on camera. So yeah, in a way they are enticing violence, which brings us to... 2-Sure, it's, as the SCOTUS ruled, illegal to "Cry fire in a crowded theater", but the court has consistently ruled (Whether we like it or not) in favor of free speech, including such hateful groups as the KKK, who have been met with fisticuffs in the past. Point of fact, the court views the government as being responsible for protecting these idiots rights to have their opinions heard in safety, whether their opinions are distasteful or not. Let's not forget that not too long ago, these very same rights helped make the Civil Rights movement a possibility. I ain't defending these morons, but I do defend folks right to free speech, even when I absolutely disagree with both their vehicle and their message. 3-While I don't know about a town slashing their tires, I do know that one southern town had vehicles "break down" right in front of the exits of the hotel the WBC folks were staying at, and that the "breakdowns" conveniently enough happened at the exact time the WBC folks were getting ready to leave their lodgings and protest. Sadder yet, there was no available law enforcement to "aid them in their hour of need" as they were all at the protest, getting ready to make life safe for the protestors :-) Very nicely finessed-Those southern boys, country slickers all.
