ORIGINAL: Endivius the knecklaces for your purposes are part of a tradition in the french quarter on boubon street that started a couple of decades ago, you shake your beads at a would be recipient, they show you thier tits, you give them the beads. the knecklaces for the purposes of mardi gras come in all shapes and colors. the variety is to signify the different people you've interacted with and places you've been at mardi gras. This is the real tradition of mardi gras. Most college students and vacationers go to the french quarter thinking bourbon street is "where it's at" but this is simply not true. The parades and celebrations of mardi gras dont even go through the french quarter, it's everywhere else. What you seen on T.V. and internet is not where the really cool shit is. Although if you are drunk and horny the french quarter is a great place to go, it's where all the strip clubs and dive bars are. Thank you. :) It sounds so fun! I've always wanted to go see the sights in NOLA during Mardi Gras and that talk of piss was true but...also sour grapes. The only thing I know about it is what an old friend told me years ago...and I'm sure my memory has failed me on a lot of things. He was also the type who hung around Burbon St., lol, and only showed me pix from there and nowhere else. This late at night...I almost typed Mardi Gras as Mardis Gras. Repeatedly. Aargh. I am still recovering from my glee of having to look through scores of Valentine's Day cards at our local Dollar Tree earlier. Another requirement of a play party. Anyway, deciding between cutesie Dixie Cup type jokes, Valentines that folded up into paper airplanes, Harry Potter ones, etc., I finally decided on Pirates of the Carribean(sp?) for my boy and...mwahahaha...I cannot believe I did this but I completely dropped my dignity at the door and bought some scratch and sniff ones for myself. Banana splits and stuff like that. [:D] I couldn't find any of those fold over ones with the lollipop inside, as was requested. Gah.
