Status: offline 		which is worse, overtly racist, xenophobic hate mongering (the kind of thinking that leads to actual hate crimes) or "personal attacks against users"?

this is an absolutely and purely hypothetical question meant in the spirit of friendliness and amity to assess the overarching philosophies of the user base and is well within the stated code of conduct. :D

Status: offline 		Racism is more annoying.  I would rather hear insults that apply to me directly, not some retarded blanket statement based on the bottom 1% of the people that look like me. 

At the very least, it shows that the person cares enough to take the time and add that personal touch.

One should always be polite to the Moderators and not try to argue against them or one could find themselves on ..."moderation."

Depending on the nature of the personal attack, it's often the former that motivates it.
