MyHazelLabyrinth -> nipple clamps and healing (2/16/2012 10:12:01 AM)

ok, so, not exactly sure what to write as i have only really started with clamps and such, i quite enjoy it, and it is nice to know i have a masochistic side even if i'm a masochist that doesnt need much pain to get into subspace

anyway, what i'm wondering is what is "normal" healing after clamps usage? now i know everyone is different, and it also depends on the clamps used. but i guess what are some signs where things have gone wrong? or thngs to worry about?

i just feel really ill equipped when partaking in this, as i know so little, like the warning signs, and i do worry with the peeling skin and how slow it heals, but maybe it is "normal"

clarrification please?

Its funny you mention this because after I have been using nipple clips my nipple get sore by just jogging in that it rubs against my t-shirt.
But my guess is that maybe get it time to heal with proper ointments.

thanks so much for your response, i was thinking about lotions and stuff to help it, but does everyone need to do this?

I've never needed anything like that. The soreness always seems to go away within an hour, and I've never had any lasting effect. But I've also never done anything hardcore with them like having weights put on them or using them for more than an hour at a time, so if you're doing those things you might have a different experience.

I have never heard of nipples taking any time to heal after having clamps used on them unless the clamps were used for too long a period.  I have certainly never heard of skin peeling.  There is pain involved when the clamps are removed but that should be gone in a matter of minutes.  After about 15 minutes of use clamps may cause damage so they shouldn't be used for longer than that unless they are very loose.  Clamps used too long can cause permanent numbness which means permanent nerve damage.  How long were these clamps that caused the skin to peel used on the nipples?

Edited to add:

Even something as seemingly innocent such as clamps should never be used until some research has been done as to proper and safe use.  This is true for every type of toy.

He doesn't use them on me for more than about 20 minutes at a time. A couple of times years ago, when we were ldr and would play for extended periods, he used them on me several times during play. After they were extremely sore and chafed. I used bag balm on them myself, bought at the farm store in a little one ounce size container.

Not only does it help them heal, but it smells so awful he didn't want to come near my nipples while I was using it. Which helped in getting them the time needed to heal.

fucktoyprincess -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/16/2012 7:03:43 PM)

I often end up with irritated skin after nipple play. A&D ointment or Aquaphor (readily available at any drug store) will help (and also minimize the discomfort of chafing against clothing).

MyHazelLabyrinth -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/17/2012 1:09:43 AM)

there were differnt clamps used on me in one night, perhaps they are peeling because it's really new to me and my nipples arent used to it? there were weights attached but each time was left on from 10-30mins.

it just worries em that they peel, because that means cell damage and that is really really bad, and not safe.

they werent really toys either, pegs were used, and then like things that hold a table down, something else, idk, i'm not really helpful with this.

Duskypearls -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/17/2012 3:43:55 AM)

I suspect Vitamin E oil might be helpful.

Just0Plain0Mike -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/17/2012 5:44:29 AM)

I've seen this happen fairly often. Peeling and sometimes a bit of scabbing. It usually happens with the harsher clamps.

Try arnica gel. It's a homeopathic gel. Brings down swelling, helps cuts heal up. It makes bruises go away faster too. It's good stuff.

Duskypearls -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/17/2012 3:34:17 PM)

I would NOT recommend Arnica applied topically on broken skin or wounds, or taken orally, as it is internally toxic.

sincelo -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/17/2012 5:18:34 PM)

I know that the when i was nursing I got horribly sore and painfully chapped nipples. I always found that using cooled teabags that have been previously steeped had great healing properties.

Edited because I have read a LLL site that says tea bags may actually make the problem worse ... i thought that it helped me but I would hate for you to go through more pain due to bad advice.

SLRN158782985 -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/17/2012 5:24:57 PM)

When I had my nipple pierced, the areola beneath the piercing tended to dry out (nipples are a mucus membrane). I used a small amount of aloe vera, cut fresh from the garden. I had to be carefull not to get any onto the piercing jewlery or into the stoma...but I am no expert.

Edited 'cause I can't spell.

MyHazelLabyrinth -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/18/2012 2:48:54 AM)

thankyou to everyone that responded, any and all advice was welcomed, and i really appreciate your opinions. I might try the aloe. thanks :)

sissyRichard50 -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/18/2012 5:25:57 AM)

Just make sure your master whips the clamps off as you orgasm - it's a fantastic high.

I've had them inverted on my nipples and the chain is then pulled up and through rings on my gag.  When the weights are applied this pulls my tits up rather than down - they look nicer and the pain is different.  Give it a go.

avena -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/18/2012 11:32:21 AM)

You might also try some lanolin cream. You should be able to find it any pharmacy, usually in the baby stuff aisle. It was recommended to me when I was nursing, and I loved it!

We use clamps alot, although ones that are designed specifically for nipples. I've never had any problems afterwards, aside from some lingering tenderness. Perhaps the damage was caused by rough surfaces on the clamps you used?

GloriousMorning -> RE: nipple clamps and healing (2/20/2012 12:14:00 AM)

There is a significant difference in skin *peeling*, and skin *chafing*. Skin chafing, redness, whiteness, hardness, and even slight swelling, are all within normal expectations after heavy or new nipple play, use some ointment or lotion, you will be fine. Peeling? Ive never experienced this, but if you played within the recommended boundaries (ie: no longer than 20mins), I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't just really bad chafing.

peeling skin

If you are using carpenter's clamps with textured teeth, then peeling is normal because you will have the equivalent of an abrasion wound.  Otherwise, it seems your nipple session was bit more extreme than average.  Perhaps the clamps were on so long, it impeded blood flow and skin died?  Maybe they were far to extreme for you and it killed a layer of skin?

I have seen chaffing, flaking skin on the surface of many impact wounds when they heal.  But I never really peeled the skin off someones nipple before.  Salted camomile herb baths do wonders for tender inflamed skin shortly after playing rough.  Otherwise, aloe and vita-E are the best 'after the fact' repair salves.

I have a lot of dry skin issues, so for me, even with normal nipple clamps, I sometimes end up with dry irritated skin in that area that then does actually "flake" or peel off. If you've ever had very dry skin somewhere on your body you might know what I mean by this. Not a wound or cut or massive amounts of peeling skin. But just dry, flaky skin - and this occurs even on my nipples sometimes. But it is skin cells coming off (which is what dry skin is).
