"Viagra ultimate" - hard not to steal that one, lol, by what signifier would you like to be credited?

I'm leery that you may be trying to tempt me, more specifically you are making an appeal to my ego so as to induce me to commit the Sin of pride in order to make fun of me for being entrapped so easily.
k.

Ok, what the hell. The opposite sex often finds me cute. The fundies no doubt will have a field day with this one. Fundies are fun!

What is viagra ultimate? I'm glad you asked. Viagra ultimate is an insurance policy where it is guaranteed that even in the event that you are unsexed in your lifetime your contribution to the survival of the specifies will be so significant that temples will be erected in your name.

Typo alert! In post 183 http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=4046605 I meant to write species, but typed specifies instead. What do you know, specifies is an actual word.

Perhaps it is time to discuss how my work can be applied in what appear to be ways that are warm and fuzzy. Consider the commandment, Be kind to animals. A Christian may object claiming that no such commandment exists. My work shows that since we can be certain of nothing and since it can be argued that animals are related to us it is within the realm of the conceivable that God wants us to show at least some respect for animals so as not to offend God on the off chance that our behavior may offend Him. The problem with the Pharisees is they feel very certain of what they know. I feel that this is inconsistent with what God has taught us. Jesus Christ was very specific on this point: The Pharisees are no good.

What I wrote above, see post 186 http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=4046624, has its limits, however. Some things are regarded as taboo and there is reason to believe that these things should be taboo.

I came by a passage in the Bible that may be apropos.

quote:

John 3:12 New American Standard Bible (1995) http://nasb.scripturetext.com/john/3.htm

If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

It is possible that Christianity was always intended by God to be an inconvenient faith. It is an honor to serve Him.

Gloria

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth. Lord God heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father; receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Well, you're either playing games or or you are suffering from the delusions fostered by all philosophies that are not based in radical empiricism, ...

Well I'm into science too, but why bother with radical empiricism? Why not just settle for empiricism? Isn't empiricism good enough? It has to be radical to get results?

Earlier you denied that there was any need to concern oneself with whether or not one's abstractions are real. Haven't you ever heard of the existential fallacy? Your methodology is flawed. Your methodology causes you to equivocate. In other words, your methodology is non-deterministic. What you get are multiple solutions, but you chose that solution that is politically expedient. This isn't science. This is politics. You pick that solution that is consistent with your dogma.

Are statistical probabilities real?

That is an interesting question and in some regards it is similar to the question does God exist. It appears defensible in the same or similar way. I am not merely claiming that hypocrisy is unreal. I am claiming that I can prove it. You are talking about things people have found difficult to prove or disprove. I am not talking about something that is difficult to prove. You never really examined the foundations of your beliefs have you?

You did what? Took it on faith? At least God and statistical probabilities are difficult to prove or disprove. Not all things are this way, however. You are just assuming that no elegant proof of its non-existence exists as if it were on the same par as God and statistical probability.

Hypocrisy is the chickenshit way out, ...

I can relate to the importance of being intellectually honest. Such honesty requires discipline, but the problem you face is you put all your eggs in one basket, namely radical empiricism. Ok, it is good to live in the clear light of truth, but what is the truth?

Perhaps we are brothers and we have yet to figure it out. I find belief in God to be intellectually satisfying. God disciplines us and teaches us the value of discipline.

Are you really that sure that you are genuinely covering all the angles? That is what the Church does. It covers all the angles.

we still have sex

I am not defined by sex though I admit that I'm really, really into females. Oh yes, God did great work when He created Eve even if Eve screwed up. But is sex really that wonderful? Would you trade sex for a truly wonderful friend?

I agree that it is important to do what we can, but it is also important to act correctly. I think we could both agree that it is important not to be deluded. I am saying that it is easy to be deluded. You seem to be saying that it is easy to be clear headed.

I suppose I could say more. Our world is a region of overlap. What you wrote explains, for example, why Satan has a valid deed, but it is also a paradox. We were made in the image of God. Thus so long as Satan has a valid deed Satan has something that belongs to God. What you wrote makes sense only in the absence of paradox.
