BenevolentM -> Should these three get together? (2/19/2012 11:02:55 PM)

In the AMC television series the Walking Dead which airs on Sunday nights http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-dead there are three characters that I wish to discuss. Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) who is the former Sheriff and his wife Lori Grimes (played by Sarah Wayne Callies). Lori is pregnant. She is uncertain who the father is. It could be the Sheriff's best friend who is also a former Sheriff who looked after the family when the husband was missing in action and presumed dead. The world is a post apocalyptic world.

I say invite the his buddy into the family and give his wife two husbands. Ordinarily, I wouldn't be keen on such an idea since this is polyandry and I'm into polygyny, but the world in the story has gone to hell in a hand basket and it is his best friend who looked after his family when he was gone and presumed dead.

There is another female Andrea (played by Laurie Holden) in the picture that gets along with the buddy and is his advocate within the group. The buddy and Andrea have had sex once already. It would be simpler if Andrea wasn't in the picture, but the two get along so well together.

Any comments?

I agree but then you wouldn't have the usual Rooster of the hen house effect....see everyone needs to be in place for the whole thing to work out and think the former sheriff should come out with him being bi---

It would remove the necessary tension to keep the characters interesting. Anytime characters get together, the show goes flat.

If he were to come out and say that he was bi, I fear the response would be, "I didn't know. Now I've got to kill you and take your wife for the sake of the baby."

The program is kind of late night as it is. If they were to get together, there would be a new tension. Not only must they survive, they have got to survive together coping with all the jealousies. One taking the other husband out back over whose getting more time with the wife. True, it would send the program in a different direction, but then there is Andrea who might get jealous. What is to become of Andrea?

I think we should write this new version of the Walking Dead. For its entertainment value of course.

Yes....I am the father of Lori Grimes progeny.

It happened in a little tube hotel in the Detroit airport....$27.75 an hour....I had a flight to catch....I shoot full catchers.

It was destined.

I don't think he shouldn't be invited into the family. It would be too messy and in this apocalypse I expect the human race has gone into a downward spiral, what with all the Zombie-ification and whatnot, so he would have a moral responsibility to form a relationship with another fertile female...

You may be right. This is what I picture. Rick giving Shane Walsh (played by Jon Bernthal), i.e. his buddy, a lecture about face it, we are living in a post apocalyptic world and we have got to start thinking about repopulating the species. I appreciate your interest in protecting Lori and if you want her you can have her, but Shane there is also Andrea to consider. I see how the two of you look at each other.

At this point I see that there are two alternatives. Rick makes the following proposal to Shane. I think we should cross breed. Give me Andrea and I'll get her pregnant, then we can call it even or if you prefer we can invite Andrea into the family and we can make it a foursome. Rick says to Shane, in time I think you are going to realize that you and Andrea were meant for each other and you will forget about Lori, but if you don't that would be ok with me too. Shane we need to repopulate the species and the women folk need our protection. Maybe it is better that no one knows who the father is exactly. You protect Lori and I'll protect Andrea, deal?

There are already tons of people fantasizing about this in all sorts of combinations. Google "Walking Dead fanfiction". Don't be surprised at how much Rick/Shane porn you find. lol

I don't think of it as porn. I see it as a role playing exercise. An intellectual discussion.
