I'm more of a dog person, but I love cats too.
Arpig and I have 3 cats between us.  Dormitatus Rex (Fat ass for short) Artemis (Squeaky) and Magdalin (Magus, Maggs, Maggoty Magus...the list goes on).
We also have a puppy named Cohen, (Sir Shitsalot, Shit head...working on housetraining).  He's a Shepherd/Husky mix.
I also have a dog currently living with my mom that will come live with us when we move to a bigger place.  She's a Chow mix, and built like a tank. Her name is Ryn.
I like ferrets and snakes and lizards, but so far that's a no:)

I LOVE dogs....  but cats go better with potatos au gratin...  so it's a toss up.

I'm a dog person and have a wheaten terrier.  I have a cat, too, but I just tolerate her.  Cats make my eyes itch and my nose twitch.

I like dogs much more than cats, I find cats quite creepy I also think that some cat people mistake the fact that cats are hard to train as some sort of mysterious wonderment rather than just putting it down to the fact that cats are just stupid.

I have a dog he is a Weimaraner, they are a very intelligent breed and they learn things quickly though they are also very independent dogs. Where as some dog breeds are specifically bred to be companions to people Weimaraner’s are bred to be working dogs though they are still very social and they are friendly to humans and other dogs.

Stupid huh?...Well lets see what my 'stupid' cats can do. All three are potty trained...YES they use the toliet AND flush it. Can your dogs do the same? They are also 'watch' cats. They make a ruckus when someone is around the house. In fact we had an attempted break in afew months ago and it was the cats that alerted us to the fact. My cats can also fetch...its one of our favorite games. Granted I cant throw a huge stick around the yard but small balls and lids off of coke bottles work just as well. Cats are very trainable and easy once you learn how to do it. Like dogs cat owners just need to learn how to read their pets.

Wow.  We can't even discuss dogs and cats without a flame war starting.

Dogs and Cats are both here though I've always primarily been a dog person, I've had a dog in my life ever since I can remember. When the ol' man and I got together I adopted his 3 cats (and various dogs) and got 2 cats of my own that are rescues. I brought with me Big Black Dawg and since have accumilated a PomDom, a Hound and a Border Collie. The horses, well, I'd bring them in the house too if I could! [sm=ofcourse.gif]

I love animals in general. I grew up with dogs. My ex husband and I each had a cat and he got them both in the divorce. I didn't realize just how allergic I was to them until I was away from them and could actually breathe again. Now, I have a mini long haired Dashund (weiner dog) named Amber. She just happens to be a year old today. There will be another puppy added to our home soon. A male named Ozzie. My dog is wonderful and goes almost everywhere with us.

Cat....Ummmm some(my son &friends) might call Me the Crazy Cat Lady.

Yep, that's what I'm destined to be.  [&:]  As of now I have only 3 cats, and that's only because my Dutch Master won't let me have any more.

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: Dog or Cat Person? (6/3/2006 2:29:01 AM)

I love animals, from afar...
Had a couple of dogs growing up, but being from a large family and always competing for attention/love with other human beings left little time for pups...  I think I may have to break down and allow a dog though when the lil one gets a little older;  I don't mind dogs much, but can hardly stand cats.   M

Kedikat -> RE: Dog or Cat Person? (6/3/2006 2:42:23 AM)

I am more a cat person.
And have been described as feline in body and character. I get along with cats and dogs. But cats get along better with me. I tend to treat my cats as more dog/human like, and they seem to grow up being a bit more dog like in the ways of play. But keep the cat way of self sufficiency. So we both benifit.
Of course at the moment I have a ferret. I had two, but Fred died a while ago. Fred being raised in the cat/dog way was a fine friendly fun ferret. Ted that I got as an older fellow is a nippy more hyper natural ferret. But now, I am his only friend, so he has to be nicer. He is learning the fun of hide and seek ( as my cats did ) and is learning that human blood tastes good, but less fun ensues.
I think after Ted passes on, that I will not get another pet. If I did, it would be a cat. I think cats have lower expectations of life, they just thoroughly enjoy the present good moments. And patiently await the next one. A cat would pass the time well with me at this point.

Well I love both dogs and cats and have a St Bernard and a Maine Coon Cat....also love horses the sheer way that they move and the intelligence ont them takes my breath away.
